I have a library of kontakt instruments on an external drive, organized through KLU. Kontakt is on the (macOS) internal drive. I ran out of space on the external drive and have a second external drive that I would like to use (if possible) for the purpose of expanding the library. Is this possible? I read somewhere you can do this with kontakt itself. But can you have two external drives with libraries on them and managed by KLU?

If so, what's the process to make it happen and to ensure that Kontakt/KLU doesn't get messed up.

Hello people!
KLU app is working fine on my computer, can create/add libraries that appear inside my Kontakt BUT I'm getting the "this instrument belongs to a library that is not installed currently" message (although I have used the Install library button on KLU). Any ideas on how to fix it? I'm using this on some "old" libraries that used to work but in my new system were not appearing (examples: Spitfire Percussion Redux, Albion 3 Iceni, Vir2 World Impact Percussion).

Hi! Tried that but it's not working with those libraries for some reason. Those libraries used to work without having the ninct file but couldn't find a way to add them into my K7. KLU didn't help with these. Any ideas? Thank you!

Do you have to make sure each hard drive has the same volume label name and folder structure or each should have a different name/structure ? So that Kontakt doesn't get confused?

Any pitfalls to avoid?

 

Each external is recognized manually when adding to the kontakt browser by library manager. Your system will assign each storage device their own drive letter by default. You just tell the library manager where the added libraries are located externally. Only pitfall I encountered was occasionally the system would reassign the drive letter, so I had to add all libraries on that storage device all over again, LOL. And also taking notes which devices have certain libraries I need at a certain time.

 

Isn't 7.4.1. Portable only for WIndows from the releaser vk Danilov? A Mac portable certainly would be nice.

 

You can use whatever drive or multiples of drives you want (as far as using KLU to import/replace/fix etc library's in Kontakt...Thats the only thing I use KLU for. Its Easy Peazy, and rock solid.

As far as "messing things up", thats up to you and yours, only you know what your trying to do. If you have any questions though feel free, ill share what i can.

I have just to use KLE, actually program came within a torrent file of Kontakt7.
I tried every thing, including; replacing the Preferences folder, reinstalling, trying to reopen for27 times

But still same error.
An exception of class OutOfBoundsException was not handled. The application must shut down.

I get exactly the same message. I've tried over and over. It's weird. I've got 2 hackintoshes running Kontakt and I've had no problems running Kitty script to install libraries. Yet on this mac mini, kitty says no directory or file exists when run, and klu fails with the above exemption.
I've spent hours trying to cure this problem.

I unninstalled everything including any related hidden files and made a fresh install. This cured the problem.

 

Hey there. Thank you for your exceptional work on this App. Its been wonderful. But I added some libraries and everything was good. Then on the next launch, my Kontakt Library Order is completely messed up - to the point that every time I launch Kontakt, I see a different Library at the top. Its completely random now and I can't get any order to stick.

Would you consider incorporating a Library Editor that allows you to assign Library Order? That would be a godsend for so many, as I am aware this problem has been posted so many times from hundreds of users and there isn't a "real" or "simple" solution.

I appreciate your feedback either way on this, and again, Big thank you for your development on this app.

I just tried moving over all the files as per your instructions, and some things worked but not everything unfortunately. All my old libraries I had installed on my old system that doesn't have a .nicnt file but only the nkc/nkx file structure (like the old ewql libraries etc) did not make it over, and if I try to load any of those through the "files" tab, I either get a corrupted message saying that the library is encrypted and needs to be authorized, or I get "demo" if it actually loads. So it seems I can't use them anymore unless some kind soul out there knows how to fix it? They worked fine on my old system (Intel iMac running Monterey, and my new computer is an M2 Ultra Silicon running Ventura)

Another strange thing is that now my Kontakt 7 does not "remember" the workspace settings of how I set it up like it always has? It always reverts back to the default settings if I close and open Kontakt or open a new instance of Kontakt which is very annoying. Has anyone experienced the same issue and have any idea of how to fix it? I've googled for days but haven't found any answers..

For some reason after copying over all plist and xml files etc from my old Intel iMac to my new M2 Ultra in order to get all my libraries back without having to manually install everything again, Kontakt now reverts to the default view every time I close the Kontakt window and every time I open a new instance of Kontakt. This is very annoying of course and I've never had this happen before, so I'm guessing that something got messed up when I copied everything over from my old computer to my new one. I've googled for days trying to figure it out but haven't found any answers and I have no idea what I messed up or how to correct it other than uninstalling everything and starting from scratch. I'd rather not have to do that of course, so if any kind soul out there has encountered the same issues and know about a fix or how to solve it, I'd be very grateful for some pointers

Just for info if someone else is in the same situation as me regarding Kontakt not remembering the workspace settings. I started the standalone version of Kontakt once just to check if a library was installed. I changed the workspace as usual and then quit but forgot to check one thing, and started the standalone version again, and low and behold the settings I just did was remembered I started Logic and fired up the Kontakt plugin just to check, and again, low and behold the settings were remembered just like in the standalone version. So for me I had to start the standalone version first, make the settings to the workspace I wanted, and then start the plugin Have no idea why, but that worked for me
