"[such and such software] has been exclusively released on AudioZ by [uploader] who chose to ask not to post mirrors. Please respect the uploader's wishes."
I can almost accept and understand this if an individual uploads software that they actually purchased themselves, and it's not released by a crack team (although I still think it's a bit "cheeky"). However, when software is released by a crack team, and somebody finds it somewhere on the web, and then uploads it on these proprietory sites such as rapidgator.net or ul.to that are next to impossible to download from with a slow connection, then this amounts to greed (they're making money off the crack teams work) or ego, or both. This has been a continuing bone-of-contention on Audioz for many of us. Futhermore, I believe that this policy pisses off the crack teams, because certain individuals, as stated above, are making money off the teams hard work. Personally, I will never pay for warez in any way, shape or form other than what it costs me to maintain an internet connection.

I think he is referring to sample pack since 90-95% of the time they are uploaded only in UL and RG.

It's hard to maintain balance between uploaders and those who download. However in this case, free content should be uploaded on freely accessible hoster, like no questions asked.

On the positive side there are a few uploaders who decided to finally upload to some other, much better, mirroring FSS-es, I noticed. Thank you for doing that, guys! You know who you are!

Probably after realising that people skip some downloads because... they can't! If given only UL:RG options you can download one file every two hours [if you don't use various tricks, most people are not so technical] so you have to decide which one to download and you can forget about downloading anything else. UL:RG are just too restrictive, and they give us 20th century download speeds, too. However, I must give them one thing: they really keep those links alive for the longest time! Hat off for that!

UL and RG are great FS mirrors IMO - for when nothing else works!

p.s. I ocassionaly download something 2-3 or more years old and usually only the UL or RG link is still alive.

@panther5 AS @Andrew stated, free content should be available on freely available hosting sites. It is true that some uploaders make money from their posts on UL/RG and many have varied opinions on this. Some positive, some negative. it is the uploaders choice to not allow mirrors. Until @SAiNT decides he no longer wants to allow this, it is a choice we must all live with. It is your choice not to download from an uploader who chooses to do this. I understand the difficulties that may cause some of our members, but we must remember it is content that we would not have if it was not supplied by the uploader, so we must take it as it comes.

Atleast Sample pack and sample libraries should always have one free and faster host IMO.

Disagreed. AudioZ provide some exclusive free downloads..
AudioZ uploaders are actually very kind when compared to other sites.. Those are money total making schemes..
OTOH, if a regular uploader can get some compensation for his upload/packing 'time', i have no complain with it.. They deserve it 100%.. It's not as if they aren't providing free links..
And this coming from someone who only uses free downloads.. I am just patient and grateful..

just get real-debrid or something similar as i brought a month ticket a week or so ago and its been a dream. Im getting awesome speeds and no waiting and i think i only paid like 5 euros. is that too much to pay for such amazing software for basically FREE especially as youve paid god knows how much for a pc/mac plus internet connection.

When I read this sentence, I couldn't help but think of how many people who frequent AZ have the unfortunate attitude of:

But that's a different discussion, and obviously it's not meant to be a shot at you.

Anyway, the answer that gets rehashed again and again when this question comes up is "once upon a time we took a poll and everyone agreed on UL and RG". I don't know that it sufficiently addresses the issue since obviously attitudes have changed, but there is that.

Here's the problem with 'banning' paid links: some of those paid links support people that reinvest that money in releases for everyone. So no matter how many Sunnys, Integrals, (funtime? I haven't made my mind up on him yet) and awakes latch themselves on to the sister site, there is another edge to that sword. And frankly I think if we did away with all the paid links we'd be right back here in a couple months, except the threads would be begging for them back. I like where we're at right now though. Brought on by the onslaught of shitty newbyism, there's been a lot of open discussion in this place lately about how to make it better for all. Feels like evolution.

This is speaking almost purely out of conjecture, but think about the volume of releases that get put out. Not just AudioUTOPiA and R2R cracks. I'm talking SYNTHiCATE, DISCOVER, and the like. People who put up for massively expensive Kontakt libraries and seek out every Groove3 and Lynda video under the sun to share them. I don't think anyone can afford to pay that out of pocket and I think we all know that shit's not coming from user supplies.

So yeah. Tons of greedy douchebags. But as is almost always the case in life, it's a complex situation

She is so altered by tanning and THICK makeup that it drops her into the uncanny valley for me. I hate that people think that shit is cute.

Also, reality TV has sunk to charicature levels.

A question: Does Synthicate, Discover and other such groups have to pay for the stuff they upload? If so, then they should definitely make money out of their uploads. I have no problem with that at all. It's like you said, it insures that the software will keep coming. Another question: Are Synthicate, Discover, etc., the ones requesting on Audioz, etc., that there be no mirrors? Is this how they make their money?
If this is the case, I'd like to see a two or three day waiting period before mirrors are accepted. This would give these groups time to make some cash, and at the same time hopefully satisfy everybody.

As a uploader (Although i add one semi fast free link) i can tell you that more time goes into doing uploads then people think. Example being when it comes to tutorials that i post i have to download them, rename them, compress them, zip them, upload to multiple different host and make a presentable post to Audioz and also do reups when my posts go down which takes time and internet so i find it fair if people want to lock mirrors.

    Point #1

The general consensus of opinion is... UL and RG work very well for those that make the effort to pay for premium access.

Others can disagree with this opinion but that's the reality and Im not sure that this opinion, that was clearly voiced during the last round of "whats the best hosts", has actually changed.

    Point #2

Whether those that post up warez make a profit from the downloading of such warez from these hosts, is really besides the point as most people here, without any shadow of doubt, don't pay for the apps and so to complain that it 'costs them something to download' is just another symptom of the whole "I want everything for free and it's my right to have everything for free" attitude. Then to complain that others make money from such downloads is plainly hypercritical... when the simple solution to prevent that, is to buy the software yourself instead of downloading it for free!

The main complainers here cannot have it both ways..

The choice is: Pay for/crack the software yourself or... pay a service and the people that upload such cracked software, so you can download it for free.

Personally , I don't like the idea of people making money from the sharing of warez they didn't crack themselves but the reality is, if they didn't, there would be little incentive for the people who have do have access to such warez, to share them with the multitudes and so the majority would be far worse off than they are now... and that choice, i spoke of earlier, would be taken away from you all.

So which is the lesser of the two evils?

    I agree with @MrAnonymous Uploading is a long and brutal process at times. if you have any doubts check your current connections yourself here;

    http://www.speedtest.net/

you may find yourself in shock at your own upload speed compared to your download speed, maybe not, but it may open your eyes to what is a roadblock for a lot of people. Even those with great download speeds have marginal Upload speeds and when your talking Multi-Gigabyte Uploads on Multiple sites some releases could easily become a week long process, only to have some File hosters remove links before the entire process is done.

    EDIT:
Remember as well that unless an uploader is paying for a premium account as well, limited storage is available to store files and there lifespan is not unlimited.

It makes no sense to discuss this topic I think... the "slow to download" files will anyway be available on torrents in a few days.

Concerning the uploaders wishes, they surely have theyr reasons, so we should respect that.
If the "Teams" would find that unacceptabe, they would surely act in some way

If You want to connect the dots, go ahead... I don`t feel the need to do that.

Thanks to the teams, to the uploaders, to AudioZ, and at the end to the torrent posters

RG and UL are slow... So? Where's the hurry? If you didn't have the software until now, are two more hours that much of a grief? Just toss the links into JDownloader and they'll download eventually. Let the uploaders get some reward for their work.

This is a topic that ends with the same results as the PC/Mac, Hardware/ Software, real tape/emulation wars. Just be thankful for these computers and nowaday workarounds are far better than the forefathers had to endure and paying for studio time to complete an album.Carry on..........................Peace!
