I am wondering if there is a list with services i can kill for my windows 10 21H2 version. Its an offline maschine and doesnt need any internet services or security.

Not really sure if i should just use Blackbird?

Would be glad if there are any suggestions, which services i could retire.

Glary Utilities Pro by Glarysoft allows you to turn on - off, add, edit or delete startup entries (I`m sure others do to,
but this is the one I use).

Just go to BlackViper and first configure them for safe usage and you can disable the obviously unneeded ones. Anything related to remote desktop or registry, for instance - those that are in the last column and marked safe to disable. BlackViper gives you meaningful descriptions of all the services, not MS gibberish.

In XP times I used to know what every service does, but now there are so many that it's really hard to remember them all.

The problem with both Blackbird and Blackviper's list is they're discontinued.

4 Easy Ways to Remove Bloatware from Windows 10/11
    https://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/4-easy-ways-to-remove-bloatware-from-windows-10-11/

    What Is Bloatware?
Generally speaking, the term bloatware is used to denote useless applications on your computer (or even a phone). They usually come pre-installed, bundled by your operating system itself. Sometimes, these might also be accidentally installed by the user.

These apps clutter up the storage, taking up unnecessary disk space that could be used for better purposes. Worse, some of these run on startup, increasing the boot time of your PC and slowing it down during usage by eating up memory and processing power.

To ensure that your computer can function as smoothly as possible, it is highly recommended to remove all of such extraneous applications. Deleting bloatware is one of the easiest ways to speed up your PC and reduce system load.

Before I start my mastering sessions, I usually fire up an instance of Process Hacker and terminate processes manually.

Some engineers prefer Sysinternals' Process Explorer but using PH, I do find its integration more suitable and a tad better for the Windows environment (custom shell, custom Task Manager, Integration to various Antivirus engine agregators).
It replaced the Windows Task Manager for me and it starts up when booting the OS. Finally, if you want to see which .dll or process is tied to another, the search is less irritating than Process Explorer or the latter.

If you are looking for an automated solution, stripping the ISO's yourself could save you from major debloat headache.
As @Xupito said, the solutions we had at our disposal are outdated since few years or 2020 for Blackbird.

You can check Optimizer https://github.com/hellzerg/optimizer/releases and if you ever consider, install any Ghostspectre windows, really fast and optimized.
You can also try "Process Lasso" which gives you big control of services, with realtime monitoring and memory and cpu optimization based on workload.

Agreed, I am using his 21H1 version on this work machine and it is beautifully stripped from the bs. It is also worth to mention that Oprekin's Windows builds are pretty good and recommended on this forum too.

    The problem is that
    - no system is like the other.
    - In my case I do need some of the services that may be inactivated by those "standard" scripts.
So it is not a solution to stop all those services by default.

As the one person that knows my PC and my needs best I try to do everything that changes my system by myself.
Otherwise I will likely face side effects.
btw its not enough to stop some services but you may also want to stop other programs running in the background without UI that are no services. You'll find the names of the apps in the Taksmanager.
The correct name to stop a service can be found in services.msc (or type in "services" in search box) if you double click on the service you want to stop by the batch and copy the caption for the service name (not display nameI

I made a batch with the editor for my needs and stop the services with the lines (just some examples):
    sc.exe STOP DragonSvc
    sc.exe STOP ReflectService.exe
    sc.exe STOP SbieSvc
    ...

and the other background apps with:
    taskkill /f /IM Ditto.exe
    taskkill /f /IM mDNSresponder.exe
    taskkill /f /IM TSClientB.exe
    ...

and save it as a .bat file.

Before I start a recording I call the batch (as Admin) so that the services and background apps are stopped temporarily.

Afterwards I just reboot and have everything started as usual.

    Code:
    ' Services Stop
    ' ===============
    sc.exe STOP "AfterFLICS v3"
    sc.exe STOP DragonSvc
sc.exe STOP "Abrosoft: Abrosoft FantaMorph update permissions manager. 12810."

The way I do it is I go into task manager and look at all the running processes. If there's any process I've never seen before I do a web search on it to find out if it's a system critical process or not. If it isn't, I take ownership of that file and delete it.

I would suggest to rename it instead something like xy.exe.old
Has the same effect but in case you need it again (despite of non sys critical) its easier to recover.
