Sebastian "Kebu" Teir (* Kristinestad, Finland) is a Finnish keyboardist, arranger, composer and producer of electronic music.

    Music and YouTube channel

Kebu Teir's solo music project as Kebu started in 2010 with his YouTube channel Kebu, which over the years made him internationally known. Here he published synthesizer demo tracks and a short time later also cover versions of well-known soundtracks, self-composed songs and recordings of his concerts. His purely instrumental synthesizer music was heavily inspired by the founders of the electronic music genre such as Jean-Michel Jarre, Giorgio Moroder, Vangelis, Jan Hammer and Tangerine Dream.

His famous cover versions of Giorgio Moroders The Chase and a faster version of Crockett's Theme from Miami Vice have already received over 18 million views on YouTube. His first album To Jupiter and Back pays homage to all these artists whose music he grew up with. Since his second album Perplexagon, he has also mixed influences of modern electronic music such as trance into his own pieces. Surrounded by over 10 analog synthesizers, he plays his concerts exclusively live.

These are partly controlled by external sequencers so that everything is generated live on stage. He doesn't use samples or playback. His rule number 1: No laptop on stage! It takes up to four hours to set up its complete setup before each performance and the decades-old instruments are very sensitive, so that defects can occur at any time. Due to the tension during his concerts and his emotional, happy appearance on stage, the Finn has gained immense popularity, especially on YouTube, and has (as of January 2021) 201,000 subscribers and over 70 million video views.

Kebu (aka Sebastian Teir) from Finland is a bright comet in the world of synthesizer music, whose last album "Perplexagon" debuted at number 6 on the Finnish album charts.

He is known for his YouTube videos which have garnered over 40 million viewers and fans from around the world. Kebu is a real synthesizer wizard whose music is not only characterized by a dedicated treatment of analog synthesis, but also by a live performance that attracts large audiences. His concerts radiate warmth and joy and show a huge arsenal of analog synthesizers that are reminiscent of the best solo synthesizer artists of the 1970s and 1980s.

In fact, the Swedish Gaffa.se said in an enthusiastic review of one of Kebu's performances that "Jarre's successor has arrived". He recently won the German Sound Wave Award for Best Artist 2017. After the release of "Perplexagon", Kebu toured Europe and gave over 70 concerts in eleven different countries. The concert in Oslo was recorded for a two-hour live album (CD & DVD) which will be released on May 10, 2019 by ZYX Music. This summer, Kebu will start a new European tour to support the release of the new live album.
