If I can pick only ONE. then :-
    OxLimiterNat-large.jpg

I can replace EQ with other EQ, or Distortion units with other units, but when It comes to limiters, I find nothing comes close to what this can do.

I've been thinking long and hard about it and my favourite plugin [because I use it all the time] is Cockos ReaMote. I use it just a tad more than ReaInsert. I'd be lost without these, since my workflow combines 2 computers, 6 hardware samplers/synths [for now], a mixer and some outboard hardware racks and pedals. This is such a great, creative combination for me that couldn't be possible without these plugins, or really hard to achieve.

  9. Exponential Audio Nimbus is something which I think is pretty neat. Besides stunning sounding algorithms it encompasses tools such as a compressor/limiter, drive (in addition it has a crossover point), highpass filtering, ability to alter the word clock and a trim for this Warp section to balance it all out. And if that isn't hot enough to make you cream in your pants, you can also duck the reverb to the dry signal if you wish a saturated vintage effect without the mix or track getting all sloppy. One just keys for input and voila, magic. All this and full filter control all in one place without compiling a big old signal chain which begins to munch out on your cpu. And the beautiful tail of your reverb can be synced to tempo as well as a few other parameters. This plugin may actually be better than sex. But don't take my word for it, if you haven't yet bought it or auditioned it from someplace close to here I highly recommend doing so. Your welcome.

I can mix anything with this, a few FX and corrective EQs here and there. Smooth!

Slate Custom EQ. So very clean and transparent, use it all the time.

Love the pre for bounces, master bus, and every bus after the wet fx. Love the EQ section, especially boosting the top end.

i second that now that I have seen someone post it... cuz i'm like, "DUHHHHH!!"

I use that sh1t alllll the time.... more than any plugin no question.

Problem is, is that it glitches out frequently in Ableton... like the last3 or 4 updates... I am on mac (10.11.6) and it generally freezes... unless I bring up an instance soon after opening Live... after like 5 minutes of the DAW being open, I can virtually guarantee that all my Cableguys stuff will freeze... sometime it closes the daw... unless I can close the gui in time and delete the plugin instance.

  16. That's actually by Fabrice Gabrel under the Slate logo. You should try Fabrice's EIOSIS Air EQ. If you like this plug, you'll be worshiping at the altar.

I've tried Air EQ, but it's too complicated and CPU hungry for my needs.

Slate's plugins are coded by Fabrice, but Slate certainly had a hand in this plugin - it's basically modeling several famous EQ devices that he chose.

PSP E27, without a doubt the best algo EQ, hell even rivals Acustica EQs.

    just for fun? :dunno:
    Ok!:bleh:
Goodhertz Lossy 3 - it makes your EXTREMELY SUPER HIGHEST QUALITY/DEFINITION/FIDELITY SOUND and THE BEST RECORDED/ENGINEERED/MIXED/MASTERED SONG EVER to be slightly worse...mp3ish, watery, lossy, more deedzschitol, and ... less harsh, because of mp3's high-frequency cut:rofl:
    ooh fucky :D

NI Absynth5, dinosaurs plugin, but its ability to make stunning pads from audio samples is amazing. i hope they redesign it, needs bigger GUI and some features like Glide/Porta (or need to find)

Soundtoys' PrimalTap. An obvious choice would be Echoboy, but PrimalTap always amazes me with any kind of source, it reproduces really well those unreliable hardware effects units (like the even stranger Permut8). I like "happy accidents"!
