    - Big studio: Expensive rooms, People have to be paid, lots of money involved. Preamp price negligible. Everyone happy.
    - Simple home studio: Happy how cheap ok gear has gotten.
    - Home Studio owners with GAS: Happy, because of all their great records they would never have been able to produce without their special gear.

    So everybody happy, nothing to see here.

    I think both! :rofl::rofl::rofl:

    BTW it's an almost spiritual moment on someone who works with audio realizing that no tool will make you sound better. If you want a vintage mix, don't buy a vintage 1073 with marinair transformers. Hire a vintage engineer. They are really rare right now.

    In no gear manual, EVER, you will find them endorsing you to overdrive the circuitry. People do because sometimes you want to get grungy without inserting an distortion module on every channel. But this is NOT the intended use. It will never be.
