JDownloader: Real-Debrid service univailable

Yes. It seems JDowloader staff has some trouble supporting new Real-Debrid access API. Here the JD warning dialog.

Firefox user have to use the Real-Debrid extension (it give access to RD platform without using the site directly). It's the only way to use it until JD staff fix the issue.

If someone has info about software altenative (reliable as much as JD was) and how to use it, please, let us know.

API changes breaking programs is nothing new. In fact, API changes breaking things interacting with APIs is nothing new.

 

You're right, it isn't, but in this case it's pretty much JD's fault, not the API. From Real Debrid:

"As you may have noticed JDownloader is temporarily unavailable for RD, we disabled our old API because we have to move forward. We asked them to make this change since the end of November 2015 (yes, 8 months ago !) with a deadline a week ago. Before blaming RD we should remind you that JD, even if some of their source code is open, have nothing to do with charity or the lovely world of free things, they are earning money by adwares included in their program and by hosters like Uploaded that gives them money to promote its service. We do NOT depend on them to have a service, you can perfectly generate your links on our website and get unrestricted ones. On the other hand, they DEPEND on us (hosters / multi-hosters) to have people use their software (to be able to sell ads and earn money), that's why they are the ones to blame here, they have all informations they need to update our plugin and hopefully they will finally update our plugin once and for all asap."
