    Jaco is a legend and a great influence on bass players like Pino Palladino and many more.
    If you haven't seen the documentary produced by Robert Trujillo check it out. I found it quite insightful (his mental illness and torment from band leader Joe Zawinul).

    The reverence they all use when speaking of him indicates the profound effect his bass playing had not just on the people who played with him, but also for every generation of electric bassist since.
