a lot of mistakes in their description/features/what's new/comparison windows.
First there is said about "Diode and Dual Triode", in other window - "Triode and Dual Triode"....Diode and Triode are different things a bit (not a bit though). But also they were in Ozone 5, triode imho was in Ozone4 (don't remember) - maybe they wanted to say that these exciter modes were improved, because they have been modeled years ago...So Strange
Where is REVERB ? Is it a regression update in case of Reverb??????
In any case - a huge update, but wish reverb was there...

 

Standalone offeres a neat entry point for those that aren't into VSTs yet. Apart from a UI overhaul and DynEQ (which I may not need) not much else new?

UI: streamlined, and bigger. O4 > O5 they also made the UI bigger. O6 may be bigger still. Hay guise, I have a small screen, I don't want it taking up more screen-estate?

Stereoize mode was already in O5, unless they tweaked it?

MPM mentioned a loss of reverb.

 

Traditional mastering (as we know) is equalizing, compressing and limiting/maximizing.
So next Ozone 8 or 10 will be only Equalizer, Compressor, Maximizer + their analyzers. So, will be no more Exciter, Stereo Imager. Coming Soon, guyz!

 

Yeah no reverb that's annoying indeed also is the fact you cant seem to use Standalone without letting it connect through the net just like RX 4, super annoying if your using on a computer that's not connected lol at bombarding them on twitter etc

I like the dynamic eq a lot for remixes etc but as far as mastering goes...I switched from ozone to UA awhile ago and never looked back. Even if I didn't would prob use a combination of fab filter + a few waves plug ins with a sausage fattener at the end.

I have about 70Gb mastering tutorial (youtube,askvideo,lynda,groove3,etc.) and i never see anyone using Reverb in the master buss

 

Can anyone tell me why izotope products have this Incl.Emulator <-- what is the meaning of this?

 

Nobody teaches how to use mastering reverb because its a very delicate process that requires a gentle touch therefore beginners would over do it. causing soundcloud to be overloaded with not only squished masters but wet and muddy ones.

 

I was thinking that it's more of a personal decision whether you use reverb at the master or on the track. It seems like the only current Izotope products that have reverb now are Nectar 2 & Nectar elements.

 

It uses an emulator so that it can be used in an AAX compatible host. AAX has PACE protection baked in so if a binary is modified it won't be able to be used so a traditional crack is not possible while still supporting this format. An emulator is just what it sounds like, it emulates the protection system.

I agree why remove something that is in there already that people really appreciate and would add extra value to a product. They're like no no no too much for you. For that price they could have left it in.

 

Look... its simple.. if you use reverb on the master... just make sure the output is set to chocolate... and u wont go wrong..

 

we can still use the ozone 5 reverb :p

 

You can use any reverb (out there. There are a few) on your master. Duh. ;)
