    uurkkhhh! i want to vomit
    Who wants to see that??
Everyone is using playback and maybe even singback.
I just looked a little maybe 30 sek.

And i noticed a group of people on stage one is "playing?" electric guitar, one "playing?" electric bass, one is "playing?" synth.
NON of them had ANY cables plugged in to their instruments (or is it a new SECRET remote system which is built in to the inner part of the instruments?)

They also have put up 2 Mesa stacks in the background (yeah that is the RIGHT choice for that kind of music)

BUT i noticed that the little lamp that always shine on guitar and bass amps when the power is ON was not shining.( I always look for that when i see something on TV nowadays)

Maybe the lamp was broken on BOTH of the amps :)))
    Pathetic!!

I used to watch this show when i was young in the 70s
    Back then it WAS live.

Back then they also had a whole symphonic orchestra and every artist (country) had a conductor for the orchestra.

And if it was a band all of the instruments was plugged in to an amp that was ON..

Eurovision song contest is a beautiful thing.
It's a celebration of music in a world who has seen enough hate, wars, and disasters.
Who is too bitter to enjoy it, may just as well watch something else - it's far more decent than trashing some fellow musicians' work.

Yeah, Romania was something special. *yes*
Modern Talking reincarnated as Count Dracula. Pretty cool though.

Only Teardrops sounds like one of the poorer Aura Dione songs. Since she's also Danish, there could be some connections (producers/studio/etc.).

I think your all missing something here.
Pop music outside your local area is something you need to consider when it comes to creating for commercial reasons. Eurovision is the closest thing televised to a unbiased charting of pop songs. It's no where near perfect but at least it exists

To test your self watch the show and pick and order a top 5 (any more then this and you'll for get which was what song and who is from each country) and compare it to where they finished in the real voting.

You'll find every year politics has reduced some countries scores e.g. the UK entered the Iraq war and dropped to the bottom of the table for 5 years. However you'll find if you have a good understanding of word wide Pop 3 out of your 5 will be in the top 5.
This year I only got 2 but I haven't listened to much music created out side of the UK and USA

A tip for watching it next year is wait for an hour after it's started and then watch it from the start on BBC I-player. This allows you to skip all of the junk they put between and even some of the worst acts.

yeah it's all cheesy and lip-syncd. Did you guys find this out today?

the Romania is actually good (and very badly mixed). So was this one : http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=kxdRN21k9tQ
(not about the epic sax guy, but about the break)

    Well, the rules are:
    • All vocals must be sung live.
    • No voices are permitted on backing-tracks.
    • Artists shall be accompanied by a recorded backing-track.
    So no lip sync possible...

    ps: Epic Sax Guy... :)
