spectralayers is complaining about a missing ANA file...anyone know what that's about, or can I just ignore that.

Which DAW? Which operating system? Can you post a picture of the error message?

ooops, what it ACTUALLY says is "NO ARA DATA - make sure the plugin is assigned as an ARA plugin. It's running fine as a vst in LIVE, but I don't think LIVE does ARA plugins...maybe I can disregard that warning

plus now I'm wondering if I even need spectralayers. If you already have melodyne, why would you need spectralayers? is it better than melodyne in some way? I'm not really crazy about melodyne, I'm hoping spectralayers is way better...melodyne I'm pretty new also, I know everyone loves melodyne, and it's super powerful I know it might be the best really.... I have a feeling it's the ARA plugin tech that makes this more powerful than melodyne possibly, but without the ARA tech you might not even need to bother with spectralayers if you already have melodyne.

How does spectralayers compare with melodyne? maybe they are completely different, but they seem very similar. I like the spectralayers gui more than melodyne... but of course that's just one factor here...

actually, it's a standalone like melodyne, but ALSO a plugin...interesting. does it work as a vst? I guess so you can apply it to individual tracks from with the DAW...it looks like it could be the melodyne killer, the stand alone looks really impressive...I wonder if I might actually prefer spectralayers, does it do all that stuff that melodyne does? I know some melodyne heads that can ROCK the melodyne...

will it work as a vst in ableton? or maybe I can only use it as a standalone for now...it does seem to load up as a vst, but then it has that warning message..and it seems a bit GREYED out in the dropdowns I have a feeling it won't work as a vst in live...

    *bump*

Maybe someone knows how to solve this problem. Checked out Steinberg's official forum, but this shit is the most useless thing on earth.

    Screen below: FL 20.7.2, Win 10 x64.
    The standalone vers works ok
If you minimize the app and exit to the desktop, there are cases where you cannot go back to the app afterwards. Everything works, it does not freeze, if you try to close the app, it will ask if you want to save the project, just for some reason you can' t maximize the app window. !! Maybe it's only in my case. I cannot speak for all of you)
but vst doesn't work at all.

I read that before people had some problems with vst version of Melodyne in FL Studio because of ARA. But now Melodyne loads fine as a plugin and I work comfortably in it. So FL has no problem with ARA support? Hmmm...

Most DAW developers have their own pitch & tempo routines included or coded into their respective software. Some (see list in ln below), have also included ARA/ARA 2 support. If you plan to use ARA, you want ARA 2 support.

Also. If you do not understand the use case for SpectralLayers, it is not for you. A standard audio editor would be best if needed at all.
Most modern DAWs have enough audio editing features for most tasks.
