I've been looking for a SWAM Violin, and I've noticed that the one on the main site is cracked by VR, and so are the ones on the other sites I use. However, I'm having an issue extracting the rar file. I'm on Windows and I aim to use it in FL Studio. Using 7zip, I'm able to extract it, but the extraction stalls at 77% and I get the error that "There are some data after the end of the payload data." Usually I ignore this type of error, but this time I've noticed it's actually affecting the files. I've tried several other rar extractors and they heed the same issue.

When I open it up in my daw, this is what it looks like:

I'm not very sure what to do about this, please help!

Maybe you can literally extract just those missing files from the .rar?
For Mac there is something called Pacifist with which we can do that and bypass installers.
Hopefully somebody Win will chime in with your version of Pacifist.

 

I'd just use WinRar to extract it. Latest versions of WinRar could not be compatible with 7-zip. Especially the latest features.

 

I uninstalled the violin again, and tried extracting it via winRAR and the same issue occurred. From all of the sites I've downloaded this specific plugin from, they've all been the same version by VR. During the several times I've tried to install it, once I got an error that the archive file was corrupted, but I'm not too sure what the specific issue was because the error message was in Russian. (my russian is really bad; yandex translate didn't help much) I've noticed that with 7zip the playload data warning usually doesn't cause any problems but I guess this is an exception.

Update/re-install Winrar.
Reboot.

 

I've tried at least 4 different download links from other sites (including the main site), and I have the newest version of winrar. All of the files I've been able to find were the VR version. I also tried to download SWAM viola and got the same error while extracting the files. The viola also just as broken as the violin. I don't think it's winrar/7zip that's the problem, seeing that all of the other online rar extractors I've tried had the same issue. I guess for both of these instruments there's an issue with how it was compressed.

I had the same problem as you. Tried from this guy and it worked

 

I had this issue with a noinstall bundle. The resource files are not where the plugin expects them to be.
Go to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\SWAM. you will see some .respath files.
open them in notepad and you will see the path where the resource files are expected to be.

Either move the files or edit the path. They need to be nested in a particular way.
