This morning I grabbed my current favorite harmonica, my Hohner Blues Harp in the key of A, headed out the door with my little doggie for a walk in the countryside to get some air, exercise and a little bit of harp practice to keep my chops up and running. When I took it out of my pocket I inadvertently dropped it on the leaf strewn path under an aged oak, wiped it off and played it as I we strolled along. When I got home I read this article.

An extremely rare, $194,000 grand piano was smashed when movers dropped it while taking it out of a recording studio, Canadian virtuoso Angela Hewitt has revealed.

Hewitt, one of the world's leading classical pianists, said in a Facebook post that she had just finished recording Beethoven's piano variations in Berlin when the movers entered the studio control room to tell her they had dropped her handmade Fazioli piano.
The pianist said it had taken her 10 days to share the "very sad piece of news" because it "has been such a shock to me that I didn't immediately want to share it with the world."
Her precious F278 Fazioli piano was the only one in the world with four pedals, she wrote.
"I adored this piano. It was my best friend, best companion. I loved how it felt when I was recording -- giving me the possibility to do anything I wanted," she said.
"Now it is no longer." The iron frame was broken, as was much of the structure, lid and case, she said.
Italian engineer and pianist Paolo Fazioli, the owner of Fazioli Pianos, declared the handmade instrument "unsalvageable," Hewitt wrote.

Though a Fazioli isn't offered in that package, perhaps one of those sweet uprights could become her new favorite.

It is the F Grand. UVI had the F 278 as a stand alone and vst years ago. https://www.kvraudio.com/news/uvi_s..._grand_piano_uvi_soundbank_fazioli_f278_12357. They have incorporated it along with others, into the Suite. Prior to that all 5 Grand pianos were part of the Grand piano Collection which sold for $129.

I guess the movers got a little trouble from the boss.
Let's hope he had good liability insurance.
Because let's face it, the $194,000 for the piano isn't the worst.
The $2 billion that the musician will claim for her lost life- and work happiness will break the movers neck...

How absolutely retarded can you be, I mean absolutely no disrespect and yes maybe I should save myself before knowing all the surrounding facts, but if this was a lazy and simple mistake that did this and I was responsible? I would consider taking my own life, UNLESS, the movers were paid poorly or treated poorly. What I'm trying to say, the owner or the movers didn't take this piece to seriously and have no one else but themselves to blame OR, accidents do happen.

Making funny faces doesn't make a mechanical performance more emotional...
Btw, there was a youtube video with the most expensive guitar for sale in the world - it didn't sound exceptional in any way...
I personally would take Pianoteq or some library over any real piano (too big and goes out of tune).

What did the 4th pedal do? Was that one analog?

I like Angela Hewitt, she has a nice, unusual repertoire. Her Bach is one of the more interesting interpretations, and she recorded Couperin and Rameau, who mostly are ignored by star pianists.

This kinda reminds me about Krystians Zimermans piano which got burned by the murrican airport security in New York I think xD

But I think other brands have 4 pedals too, like Feurich... and pianoteq, but I don't know if they do the same thing.

Every piano is a unicum so it can be very hard to replace it.

I think the mysterious mystery 4th pedal works a bit like the una corda pedal, except instead of shifting the action right (to use the "unused" part of the hammer felt and make it softer) it moves the action up, so the hammers are closer to the strings. Which makes it feel a bit different to play too, quicker / softer attacks.

Side note: how exactly do you burn a piano accidentally? Sounds like a vendetta!
by "how exactly" I mean how the sweet fuck?

You must be using your piano in a different way to me @tori!
    not nearly enough orgasms >______>

Personally I feel bad for her. Sure she probably has the money to buy another one, except there isn't another one in the world. I hope it can be salvaged and repaired. If not she may have lost her most prized possesion. This isn't like her R2R Omnisphere keygen won't work, guys. Have a heart :keys:

I didn't know this word before, but it sounds a little too funny.

I think you might mean "unique".
An "unicum" - a latin loanword - is more of "a bit odd guy" in contrast

p.s.: In German there is - a latin loanword as well - "unikat" what means something that does exist only once (in a place or in the world). The English "unicate" is not the same, but rather means unify.

Obviously not as solidly built as my old Korg DS-8.
I once did a somersault over it while out of my mind on salvia years ago and landed on it.
I was in worse shape but the Korg hadn't a scratch and worked perfectly.

It better not be because if it is then The Pirate is going to get spammed to death by her because her KEY gen doesn't work anymore.

But seriously, this is a terrible loss for a pianist like her. I hope that Mr. Fazioli can build her another one.
