Don't be fooled by reality, especially when it comes to time. We basically assume everything - you have an object in your hand but you can't prove that it's in your hand in the present time because it takes some milliseconds for the sensory data to reach and be processed by your brain - maybe even a second. Many times I wonder how much better we are today and where we are going and if this will be better.
I don't know, if it's your same thought OP, but I thought this:

There are things that happen today that will have an impact tomorrow, like things that happened before that have an impact today.
As we grow up, we become more attached to the way we grew up, were educated, and believe that something is "right" or "wrong". It is easier to change the mind of a 20-year-old than a 50-year-old. So the 50-year-old may not find the future as bright as a 20-year-old, because he or she was already formed with certain ideals.

There are things that I like about the present and the future that is approaching and things that I don't. And perhaps because of my age, I cling more to the past and not to the future, that is, I liked where we come from more than where we are going. But there is one thing that for me is worth so many changes that annoy me. and this is, the great evolution we have had with the treatment of animals.
It is more and more frequent to see people who care for animals. Zoos are less and less, bullfights are disappearing, like circuses with animals, and it is intended to end the markets that sell dogs and cats like in China. The human being is becoming more aware that animals are living beings that you feel and that deserve respect. And for me, this is worth thinking that we are heading towards a better future, where I will not like many things, but it is worth it for the respect for living beings.

 

I'm to the point where I dont even like wireless shit any more... instead of thrusting us into the future, some of us cling to the, if it aint broke dont fix it... cable tv with a coaxial cable was never broke, gas engine cars that didnt look like gay space ships were never broke, video games were actually full game releases and didnt rely on dlc and being hooked up to the fucking internet to play a game you paid for on a disc... nothing has soul anymore

 

I played in the street, I was hardly at home. We played hide-and-seek, traded figures, etc. But all outside, from time to time we would meet at a friend's house. To play video games we went to the rooms where the machines were and there we spent our coins and that's it. Then later came the Family Game, and some friends who had more money (because it was very expensive to have a family game) stayed at home and didn't go out to play. Because this point for parents was always important. "I prefer that my son stays at home playing and not, that he is in the street that something could happen to him" and today that thought continues. then fewer and fewer friends went out to play, until today, seeing a group of boys playing in the street is amazing, at least here in the capital.
We are living in times where we are moving further and further from reality, in fact, before we used to eat and watch TV, and while they talked as a family, now while they eat we are all on cell phones, locked up in a single world (individual world) And if you think about it, that is the future, living each one in a bubble, isolated from everything, each time we love each other less and listen more to each other. But I think that within all that I hate. There was a very significant change, and it is the treatment of animals. In some way I see it as a sacrifice, that is, I endure this, for this.
