I love how moog sounds and they are present in almost every hit song since digital music started going on, is there any plugin that is dedicated to emulate moog classics?

 

I like the mooglibrary for omnisphere

Every emulation out there comes with whatever the developer considers "classic", including patches to specific songs (although most of the time they change the name a little bit), aside from that i'm sure you can find downloadable presets around, if you're looking for something more specific.

 

If you wanted to save a patch on these old analog synths, you had to use pen and paper and take notes of every parameter involved. So in actuality, most of the presest in plugins are whatever the sound designer thought would represent the sound of a certain style or era. And tbh, I think most of them seem to never have heard of Parliament/Funkadelic or Ohio Players.

Inside every Moog there is a ferocious beast that wants to tear you to pieces and unfortunately it is a sound that is not reproducible. Any attempt that has been made digitally to emulate it is quite disappointing: this is the reason why so many musicians spend big money to get Moog instruments

My favorite Mini emulations are The Legend and Softube's Model 72 and right now I lean to the 72. Diva is good, and more versatile. Arturia is fairly crap in comparison. Minimogue... bless their hearts, it is free after all...

 

Monark and Minimonsta are my gotos.

 

I use Monark, close enough for government work.

But these were really hands-on synths so get your controller out, map some knobs and play with those as well!

 

Just buy a used Berinclone Model D for around $225. it will sound better than all those mickey mouse vst wannabe Moogs

Did you ever notice there are hardware controller profiles for Moog devices in Omnisphere? That would be weird, using some Moog to control a Virtual Instrument with a Moog tribute library that emulates, well you get the point.


This one is more bizarre. There is a controller profile for the Slim Phatty in Omnisphere. The only problem with that, is that it has no keys, pitch bend, or modwheel. So if you want to control Omnisphere with it, you can use 4 knobs as Midi controls. Someone has been drinking at work over there.
