I downloaded 3rd party patches, figured there is a 2.6.4 Update and that I should install it. What was odd is it updated, but didn't require me to authenticate. I installed some of this 3rd party patches and there were sounds missing asking me to refresh sound source, didn't work.

For a while now I've installed this version of Omni that just has me do this
Windows:

1. Spectrasonics
Place the «Omnisphere» folder to «C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\STEAM»

2. Software Updates
Install the Software update

3. VST Plug-In
Place the pre-patched VST plug-in file to your VST folder, and replace existing file that got installed with the software update

4. KeyGen
Use the KeyGen to generate the Response code

And for the last year it's afforded me to not have to use the 8 DVD Disc Tor of Omni. So I basically forgot a bunch of things when installing. Like how Omnisphere (which is retarded) is dependant upon the file hierarchy in order to work.... As the instructions read below

Instructions:
The installer you downloaded comes with three folders:
Mac
STEAM
Windows
• OSX users: Open the Mac folder to find the installer .pkg to run.
• PC users: Open the Windows folder to find the installer .exe to run.
Please run the installer directly from within the folder and do not change the
folder hierarchy. The installers rely on the folder hierarchy presented in the
download to function properly. It is not necessary to open the STEAM folder.
NOTE: Please do NOT try to manually install the STEAM folder.
The installer automatically checks the Spectrasonics folder on your startup
drive to determine the STEAM folder location. The update will then be
installed to the STEAM folder.

Those 3 folders Mac/Steam/Windows, which the above instructions are for the 2.6.3 update. And that there was a different folders other than the main STEAM folder to replace it, because clearly I can't replace the folder in the update thats like 20mb to replace 56 GB of stock sound.


I'm super confused now despite following directions for past 3 days. The second set of instructions don't include where I need to put those folders (as I remember it was somewhere else.

Are you on Windows or Mac? I have dealt with this on Mac and can sort of help you.

 

«C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\STEAM» = Windows

 

Unfortunately, I haven’t used Windows in such a long time, I would have to jog my memory to help you with this one.
