There is a program called shell2vst which is supposed to do that.

    does this way require installing?
im wondering if I can extract the content of the setup and manually place them where they are supposed to be. As I have waves 11 stuff installed already

I was wondering the same a few months ago, as the new Waves doesn´t support 32 bit anymore, but I still wanted to have the 32 bit versions on the system for some older DAWs that I sometimes need to open old projects.

So I tried shell2vst, but it didn´t work for me. The resulting vsts have not been recognized by the DAW.
You can try, but if it´s the same for you, just try installing a v9 bundle (v10 installation process is a bit different) along with your Waves 64 bit only installation and do the following, as it is important to not screw up your current Waves installation :

    - for 64 bit vst choose different folder that can be deleted later to not overwrite currently installed 64 bit Waves, best on desktop for quick access
    - after installation delete 64 bit vst3 Waveshell in program files\common files\vst3 (check file creation date to not delete the current 64 bit version that is supposed to be on the system. It should be in it´s own Waves folder though)
    - delete the vst 2 64 bit Waveshell that was installed in custom folder on desktop

What's the point? Just use V10 which iuncludes both. And then you just use a 32 bit host.

Or use v9, which is 32 bit only.

If he for example has two DAWs, one 64bit for new projects, and one old 32bit still for old projects (like in my case, as explained) it can be useful. In that case you want to have latest Waves for the 64bit DAW, but still 32bit Waves on the system for the old DAW.
v9 contains both 64 and 32 bit btw, that´s why my instructions to not screw up the installation.

I never had to use it but to load 32bit plugins in a 64bit Pc version simply use the plugin called patchwork...
Like i said i never had to use it but i think you can use 32bit version plugins on a newer system...

On a PC you can, but not on a Mac with a current OS!

You have to use the program "shell2vst" for x32 or "shell2vst 64" for x64.
    Copy the shell2vst file to C: \ Program Files \ Waves \ WaveShells \ or C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Waves \ WaveShells \
where you have the WaveShell-VST.dll files, there are several.

Drop each waveshell-vst.dll files to shell2vst, this will create a folder with all the waves plugins.
Those .dll's are the ones you have to use in your VSTPLUGINS directory.

First you have to install, once installed you can use shell2vst. You cannot extract any plugin without installing.
