I'm looking for 8 in/ 8 out desk so I can do multiple channel outboard processing at the same time.

most of what I can find only do 4 outs

 

You are trying to find a digital interface/board but with analog direct outs per channel? Direct outs are a common feature, but what sort of digital workflow are you expecting? Just a single USB back and forth? Those do not seem that "robust" on the digital aspects, until you start getting expensive. The Yamaha MG are the obvious to look at, but no direct outs.

I have the RME Hammerfall HDSP Multiface II (pci) for over 20 years now and it's still the best i know. You can find it secondhand for about $200,-!

if you'd read his question, that's not what he is looking for. The part about the 4 sends should tip you off he does not mean a dsp/virtual mixer. He could easily find any of these, and they are all are acceptable. but not what he asked about.....

 

i got that he wants to do external processing but for sure the rme ones can do this and i believe the motu too...

 

my point was that someone asking for something this specific probably has some good reason. Look at the Yamahas I mentioned. As his original post says, they have 4 sends; and that is pretty typical. They digitally connect to the DAW computer via usb. But function as an analog console with no computer if you do not connect one. Like any other analog board. Except they do not have the direct outs per channel and send/rec and certainly not Matrix features.

So it could be a very different thing for the original poster. That's my only point. Otherwise he would just go shopping for any interface with 8x8 io. Motu would be perfect. or x16. that's just budgetary concerns. I think his question is technical. He might even accomplish what he is asking about with a 100$ patchbay and a few cables.
