Do any cracked plugins have a Capitol Chambers preset? Do any Impulse Responses of Capitol Chambers exist? Greg Wells said his favorite reverb for vocals are the live chambers at Capitol 30 feet under the floor down in the machine room.

 

I would stop making music until you found it. The thousands of other chamber reverbs just don't cut it.

if anyone is looking for impulse responses, the closest might be the "EastWest QL Spaces Impulse Response Library"

 

I wonder why no one samples / captures some of the presets from plugins like UAD Capitol Chambers, UAD Hitsville Reverb Chambers, Softube Atlantis Chambers or Eventide Tverb?

It's not that difficult to run a Dirac signal through them and sample an impulse response. Some DAWs like Ableton even have dedicated plugins to capture impulses from either hardware or other plugins.

Sure, you won't get the full feature set available in those plugins, but at least you will get the basic sound to load into any convolution reverb.

 

Im not aware of any outside of the actual plugin. I once went into those chambers. years ago. I had a month long session at capitol, and the engineer was cool enough to take me down to see the chambers. Very surreal to be standing in the room where such an iconic sound comes from.
