i recently saw a song writing tutorial, it is quick to record/edit audio add effects on that audio. (video was probably recorded mid 2020, so im not sure if Avid screwed it up completely)
If thats all you want, its perfect, clean and minimalistic.

now if you want more, its probably complete shit ...

now yes, its not okay, how avid screwed around with it, if u have ilok problems in a way, and you depend on the software to work and the support doesnt really help you quickly, or if the sub on top doesnt work properly. its to many ifs ...
I would go crazy if my work would depend on it and as discussed earlier in other topics, their pros become nuked, by how AViD handles stuff.

If you dont have cracked software you have 2 choices:
    1. Do it yourself
    2. Wait

    Have you considered those

Anyways, I think it is the protection of those softwares. All these softwares requires you the dongle or you need to be connected to internet all the time. The other ones with machine auth are already cracked. So the culprit is the protection. It must be too hard or too time consuming, and I believe it to be latter. So, I guess unless these companies opt for machine based auth, which does not require you to be connected to internet all the time, don't expect any crack.

Hire someone who can do it. :)

But lets not delve more into that, okay?

you missed one point, nobody cares about it enough to bless it.

I can live my life just fine without a blessed Pro Tools.

this is how i know guys on this forum dont actually make music. no other daw has the routing that pro tools does(LUNA is trying). Pro Tools entire draw is the ability to mix in it. thats why it is what it is.

The 'warez community' doesn’t need to lift a finger to 'kill' Pro Tools, as you put it. Avid is managing that all on its own.

Your question was: Is the warez community killing Pro Tools on purpose?

No, because Pro Tools has lost and is losing massive market share due to the changed market situation, which means that Ableton Live, FL Studio, Studio One, Bitwig and Logic are competitors to Pro Tools and users decide which DAW they want to use to make music.

Ableton Live, FL Studio, Studio One, Bitwig and Logic are and have been hacked.
This means that all DAW manufacturers are always losing customers because users are using cracked software.

    Exactly.

Unless you are a delusional paranoid.
Then EVERYTHING has been edited and deleted.
    And in that exact order.

Of course, I've already told you this, but they edited and then deleted my post.

ProTools cracked will be a reality at some point soon. The groups dont release AAX files (boasting how they work in legit) if they themselves werent interested and invested in it fully. It is ALL a matter of time. PATIENCE is the word that comes to mind. AViDs days are numbered, and even they know it. Anyone paying attention to their renting patterns sees a company that is practically walking on eggshells. We the public dont think they are because corporations know how to make the best poker faces of all, after all, most are out there selling snake oil and we live in a world where the grey blurry lines are becoming more and more clear thanks to technology, so again, its just a matter of time.

To all the DAW haters out there, I have to say one thing about Protools that was mentioned a few posts back, quite simply put, it is the easiest DAW to work in. I didnt think this way 20 years ago in engineering school but over the years, I found it way easier to navigate than most of the DAWs I have tried. I will admit that Ive never given Reaper a go but there is a handful of other DAWs that Ive installed and tried to see what the workflows were like, only to find myself back at Protools. Thats my opinion of course but I only state it for those who can not seem to comprehend why anyone in the modern day would want a cracked copy of the oldest DAW in the industry. :dunno: Yes, I get the argument that a DAW is a DAW, but that is not the point of people posting threads like this one in the first place.

Pro Tools is in the hands of the investor STG (1.4 billion), they will quickly squeeze money out of the company and then when it no longer makes a profit, Pro Tools will be left to the free forces of the market and will probably end up like Cakewalk - Sonar.

I was (and maybe legally still am) an owner of PT but I abandoned it...
I may be wrong but it is now a dead software that will drift away on its own.

What many software houses haven't realised is that letting the soft spread will create loyalty and future customers who, once successful or on favourable economic terms, will buy it as soon as possible. And they will buy 'that one' not another, precisely because over time (and even if with a ‘not quite legal’ copy) they have still built up loyalty.

Those who will have taken a different route... will never see it again!!!

I guess it's not worth it, many home producers use that ?
Also who would supply (probably including your licence for debug...)
Pro studios/mixerd/ engineers seem happy with it and pay for it and it's fine.
Sorry to be blunt but I think we are hugely spoiled rotten already.

My huge concern is more the subsription and installers model. So many horrible annoyances comming with that, it's a big red flag for me. That's my n.1 reason I use crack. It's not your computer/software anymore, it's their. ( would better switch to reapr, Linux free soft, hardware then ...)
