To be upfront here, I own Cubase Pro 10.5 legit on my main desktop but this question is linked to installation on my laptop to try and trial a few Steinberg products using VR solution.

When trying to download things using the Download Assistant, I always get an error and try again later message from Download Assistant when trying to download larger items. Now, here is where it gets weird....

At 20GB+ each, Cubase Pro and Nuendo both download fine. However, any instruments or content above about 3GB triggers the download failure error.

My laptop is an Asus ROG GL503G series laptop with a Core i7 8750H 6 Core/12 thread CPU, 24GB DDR4 RAM, GTX 1050Ti GPU, 128GB OS SSD and 1TB data SHDD. Drive is formatted as NTFS so 4GB limitation of FAT32 isn't the issue. I have also tried downloading to both internal drives and an external USB3 drive. I have also tried using 3 different ISPs of speeds between 65MB and 150MB. I have also tried disabling Windows Security's realtime protection.

Anyone got any ideas or suggestions?

As I remenber it can be resumed when download content from that way but I have concerns about not having an uninstaller to rid off trial software on a legit copy.
    Such a shame.
I've tested backbone for a while and still having error messages after "manually removing content".
Top notch software but sounds that they don't give a f... for their mi$$es.
Still wondering why they dont give us a fullscreen mode.

Everything Steinberg is a headache for me on Mac... Cubase is packed with so many redundant functions & features, Mediabay is a great concept but a RAM hog & it’s limited to only 10K searches at a time. The only thing it offers that keeps me from sticking to Logic & Ableton is its articulation features for composers... I hope they offer a major software revamp & lose the dongle this fall when 11 is released.

Seems to be fine for me, maybe try again later? Use sister site links, identical content? Usually I find it easier to use SDA!
Guesswork: Steinbug (and any dev rly) don't have the bandwidth to spare for customers, day-to-day. I expect they might have more (and local) servers for major releases? Does seem weird for a German site ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I personally experienced a lot of trouble when downloading Cubase Pro 10.5 a couple of months ago. If you search you can find all the downloads on the Steinberg website although it felt like they are trying to hide them so you download their download software. In the end I found downloading from the website a more reliable and convenient solution as the continue download option in the assistant didn't work reliably.

I don't understand where the problem is...
All files can be download directly from the steinberg support pages...
Downloaded cubase and halion and groove agent, a few weeks ago (eg, I got cubase 10.5, no longer need to first install cubase 10 then install the 10.5 update) with direct links, just like a regular xxxmb download...

    Exemple: halion
After selecting halion from the dropdown menu
    https://www.steinberg.net/index.php?id=downloads_halion_6&L=1
Here is the 26GB for halion
    https://download.steinberg.net/downloads_software/VSTi_HALion_6/Content/HALion_6_Content.zip

    Exemple: cubase
    https://www.steinberg.net/index.php?id=14935&L=1
At the very bottom of this page, we can download the initial cubase 10.5 install (everything is a .zip)

    Otherwise,
We need to download an installer, to be able to download the download manager, to be able to download the installer setup, to finally decompress it and run the msiexec installer.

The Downloader manager could have been a bit useful, with a few extra options, like a scheduler:
At 2am, start the big halion library download, once finished, start downloading groove agent. When finished, turn off the computer.
Even browsing through the different apps is badly done. A shame, for a company capable of making an incredible app like cubase or wavelab.

    Hope this helps

Ps: totally offtopic: does anyone know any website where we can download c++ tutorials (entire videos/classes) with uploaded or uptobox premium ? Thx
