So, i just created an account to give my few cent about that synth.

I bought it and i love it. Even if i dont always use it as a synth i use it pretty much everytime as an effect plugin.
The possibilities are great and are easy to use. The layering of synths or effects is great and offers a lot of modulated ways to interact with the sound. The soundquality, the low use of cpu and the handling is amazing imho.

The biggest but which nobody seemed to mention:
The activation process is dependend of an internetconnection and availability of the manufacturer!
The synth not being updated is one thing. But in worst case you wont be able to activate the synth you bought and paid for. Or also just in case you dont have a internetconnection and you need to reinstall it... yeah. No way.

Even although i love it, after those downsides i wouldnt buy it again and dont recommend it to buy. I am hoping for a cracked version so i can be sure to be able to use it even in 10 years or so.

 

you should be able to use your cellphone in tethering to download.

 

I was in your situation a while back.

I was deciding between VPS Avenger and Rapid Synth and I ended up getting VPS Avenger, then a few months down the road Rapid had a 50% off sale so I ended up getting Rapid Synth and all the available expansion packs.

Its a fantastic synth no doubt and I have no regrets having it in my arsenal BUT, as a couple of other posters have mentioned it hasnt been updated in a long time and no new expansions have come out. There are also more current synths out there similar to this.

As for if the witches will work there magic on it, only they know what's cooking in their bubbling cauldrons, it's been out long enough and as far as I know it has never been hu hum adjusted for general use by the witches

If you have $200 dollars burning a hole in your pocket then only you can decide if its a right purchase for you, if you have tried the demo and like what you see and hear then I guess the only question is are you only holding out for the witches on something that may or may not appear. If you are not going to have any internet at all very soon then leave it till as long as you can and see if anything appears, if not then purchase it before you get cut off..
