Yey about time. The ugly looking GUI skin from the 2000s needs an update but I'm sure it will look as awful and unpractical just like with any former update lol

Edit: ha I seem to see a new high res browser menu in the list?

Yeah sometimes NI misses the mark with GUI updates. I think the absolute worst example being the switch from the OG massive to massive x, a flagship synth that has next to zero visual feedback in 2022. Lmao. I'm staying hopeful tho, Kontakt is definitely one of my favorite musical products ever.

I'm still waiting for Massive X to upgrade their UGLY and UNPRACTICAL GUI as well! Looks like on KVR and NI forums a lot of people are complaining too! Such a shame it's a unique synth with great modulation and sound capabilities, but as always NI provides visual experience and sluggish menu from the 2000s lol

Its insane to me that I'm still forced to use Kontakt after all these years and no one has invented an alternative that can read third party libraries. Its ugly, hard to read, awkward and so outdated. I can actually hear my DAW sigh whenever I load it.

There are loads of alternatives but they get ignores because:

    a) they're also ugly, in many cases uglier than kontakt

    b) they can only load kontakt 3 or earlier libraries because anything newer is encrypted and a closed format that would invoke the DMCA if someone reverse engineered it, and NI are litigious bastards.

The real question is when are they going to update their Komplete Kontrol keyboard line.

Can't forget Absynth, in 2022 it is still one of the most powerful synths on the market but loading it up feels like time travelling to 2005. All they have to do is make a flashy new GUI and make deep editing less tedious and they could attract a whole new generation of music makers.
It's almost like they wanted to keep that synth a secret or something. Horrendous GUI along with the most useless presets anyone could ever imagine.

The Native Instruments company being the least to not responsive to user requests.
When the Massive X was released the manual wasn't even finished yet.

The company has only one goal to make profits, because after all it is in the hands of investors and they
want to see a return on their investment. It would be easy to change the GUI to give the user a choice,
between different skins and sizes, but the management has decided that no money will be invested there.

Yeah it is legit a crime how bad the UI on that thing is. Like you said, it's a fantastic synth, it sounds great, has a shitload of options, it's just as unintuitively designed as they come. Like, we already have Reaktor, why make Massive X look like Reaktor?? lmao

Kontakt is a staple and necessary evil, but I wish they'd address some basics. If dragging in a sample it should detect the pitch and map based on that. It's 2022 and it still can't detect the root pitch of samples. Super lame. Plus fixing other annoyances like if you sort a large folder with libraries by most recent etc. then go back the parent folder it's no longer sorted by date etc.
