Is it possible to iterate on audio file optimization without using DSP?

I'm sure you weren't at all surprised. At least they provided a disclaimer..

    = Classic religious argument.

The last part of that sentence sounds like a perfect definition of crazy to me..

Yes, but be aware that religious discussions are not allowed here.

it is simply the definition of "belief", and as an atheist you basically do the same as religious people do, only agnostics are on the right path.

and note the fine differences between

    1. "maybe you can´t hear it, but i can hear it",

    2. "i believe i can hear it, but i can´t prove that" and

    3. "i can´t hear it, but i believe it sounds better"

What bothers me is the cognitive dissonance of tests like this. Benny Goodman - Soft Winds .flac is the optimized one right, and Benny Goodman - Soft Winds.flac is the original? I can hear a difference when switching back and forth, but then when I reverse the polarity it nulls completely, so what is going on here? I preferred Benny Goodman - Soft Winds .flac, it sounds slightly more unified and less diffuse.

Bit of a Pandora's box here, I'm confused.

I played back these .flac files on consumer monitors via my DAW ASIO drivers, no interface.

@pratyahara How many times did you optimize the .flac file?

I disagree. Belief is the possession of imaginary concepts/objects as reality which is markedly different to not possessing a belief as the concepts/objects do not exist in the first place.

It would be interesting to disassemble the actual program and check what it actually does during these two minutes of optimization. If it is a "do nothing" loop or if there is actually some nonsense happening.

If this is the case, then there is a simple method to prove it:
Record the driver output from both the manipulated file and the original. Either directly, or via a digital loopback of your converter.
Compare the recordings. If there is a difference, then your point is proven. If not, you have been fooled.

Every developer would assure you that it is not possible for a windows program to influence the way data is written to the flash memory cells of any SSD, that's been handled by the controller itself.

On the other hand for the same developer it is ok to use a standard USB controller and 30 year old 16 bit DAC chip in his 2200$ "audiophile" DAC. Any late 90s Soundblaster card should be comparable.

I have already proposed that and am not awaiting any answer.
