    What is this thing you say all the time "rules"?

    It is like you are a rebel without a cause.
    you are starting from a place of wanting to rebel therefore you manipulate "the way something works"
    to change it into being " rules" .
    very bizarre thing.
    is it a "rule" that getting hit by a car kills you?
    no, its just the way your body and tissue and organs and blood works the way human beings actually work is we get damaged when hit by a car. not a "rule".

    music is the same way .

    when you ask

    there is no such thing as "rules" about connecting chords.
    what there is in reality instead is a way chords work when connecting to each other. its based on mathematics of the frequencies combined with how the human being re-acts to those frequencies. thats not "rules"
    it is just reality.

    to give you an answer.

    imagine if you asked.

    "is there a way to connect any word to any other word (in English language) without considering any rule at all?"

    the actual answer , in reality is the same for both of these questions.

    ANSWER

    you need "knowledge" to be able connect any chord to another.

    and you need "knowledge" to connect any word to any other word.

    you have 2 choices and no other.

    1. knowledge.
    2. ignorance.

    knowledge leads to every positive result to meet your needs.
    Ignorance leads to every possible misunderstanding and bad outcome due to a lack of consideration for all the details of reality.

    Just imagine for a moment a person which had no knowledge of foster911 the actual person.
    how accurate of a picture of you , can they create in their mind compared to the actual you which exists for real?

    this fact is evidence to support that knowledge is the good choice, ignorance is the bad choice

    Just spend 1 complete week creating your spoken sentences by taking all letters of alphabet and randomly generating words , and then randomly generating sentences from the words .
    then try to speak what was randomly generated to people and see how that compares to picking words on purpose because you first know what they mean and second choose those specific words and combinations to make sentences based on them actually matching your inner experience.
    If at the end of that week you believe that the randomly generated "method" yields better results. then adopt this method as a way to create music.
    If at the end of that week you believe that choosing words based on what they mean and picking them to describe exactly what is in your mind yields better results than randomly selecting letters of alphabet,then adopt this method as a way to create music.

    @MMJ2017 I always look forward to and appreciate your logic.
    However, this statement:
    would only apply if inside foster's mind, there was only ONE reality.

    Connecting Chords 101
    -------------------------------

    Everything starts with the 12 tone ET
    we call this the Chromatic scale . this scale is a key collection.
    C C# D D# E F F# G G# A A# B

    Next we "
    unZip this scale into 2 scales by selecting every other note.

    WE end up with 2 6 note scales called the whole tone scales

    C D E F# G# A#
    C# D# F G A B

    the whole tones scale ( each of them ) is a Key collection also.

    {we can take the first section of the first whole tone scale

    C D E
    and then take the rear section of the second whole tone scale to add together
    F G A B

    to get

    C D E F G A B

    this is called the C major KEY}

    the way that the whole-tone scale works as a KEY collection

    Each note is a Dominant 7th chord. specifically (V9#5#11)

    for example lets take the second

    C#7 --- C# F A B D# G
    D#7 --- D# G B C# F A
    F7 --- F A C# D# G B
    G7 --- G B D# F A C#
    A7 --- A C# F G B D#
    B7 --- B D# G A C# F

    Now from here we can connect each of the V7 chord to their appropriate Major KEY

    C#7-----F#maj KEY
    D#------G#major KEY
    F7------A#major KEY
    G7------Cmajor KEY
    A7------Dmajor KEY
    B7------EmajorKEY

    NOW we just use the chord equivient chart for EACK KEY to derive the rest of the chords.

    I=iii=vi
    ii=IV
    vii%=V7

    next

    (I=iii=vi)
    (vii%=V7),=(ii=IV)

    finally

    {(I=iii=vi),-(vii%=V7),=(ii=IV)}

    So for C major KEY CDEFGAB

    1.CEGB
    2.DFAC
    3.EGBD
    4.FACE
    5.GBDF remember from the whole tone scale V9#5#11 is GBD#FAC#
    6. ACEG
    7.BDFA

    1.CEGB=3.EGBD=6.ACEG

    then

    5.GBDF=7.BDFA

    then
    2.DFAC=4.FACE

    then

    {1.CEGB=3.EGBD=6.ACEG}---------{5.GBDF=7.BDFA}={2.DFAC=4.FACE}

    this shows you you only really have I and V

    NOW we have seen how to start from the 12 note Chromatic scale and derive every KEY then every chord.
    we can now see the relationship between every chord of every key and every alteration.

    This is a lot of information in one comment but please take your time and look at the secrets in the whole tone scale.
    it shows that

    every V9#5#11 chord ( made from each of the 6 notes) are identical! this shows the larger structure beyond keys which is not trivial.
    this gives you a quick system to unpack every chord and make any connection just by seeing a chromatic scale

    C C# D D# E F F# G G# A A# B

    you only have 2 V9#5#11 chords in the chromatic scale.
    yet each of these V9#5#11 chords = 6 different V7 chords! ( the whole tone scale is symmetrical scale)

    In other words here is the secret

    C#7 --- C# F A B D# G
    D#7 --- D# G B C# F A
    F7 --- F A C# D# G B
    G7 --- G B D# F A C#
    A7 --- A C# F G B D#
    B7 --- B D# G A C# F

    all those chords are inversions of the same chord!

    G9#5#11 -- G B D# F A C#
    A9#5#11 -- A C# F G B D#
    B9#5#11 -- B D# G A C# F
    C#9#5#11- C# F A B D# G
    D#7 ------D# G B C# F A
    F9#5#11 F A C# D# G B

    look they all the same notes!

    making inversions of this chord connects to 6 keys!
    what are the major keys they connect to?

    the notes contained ion the OTHER whole tone scale!

    C#7-----F#maj KEY
    D#------G#major KEY
    F7------A#major KEY
    G7------Cmajor KEY
    A7------Dmajor KEY
    B7------EmajorKEY

    --------
    C D E F# G# A#
    C# D# F G A B
    ---------
    In summary we have looked at how to derive every KEY and every chord possible straight from a chromatic scale.

    every note in 1 of the whole tone scales creates a dom7 chord which resolves to any one of the notes in the OTHER whole tone scale (as a maj7 chord and KEY)

    for example

    C# D# F G A B

    take each one of these notes make a V9#5#11 chord

    then resolve to ANY note you pick in the other whole tone scale
    lets pick C so Cmaj7 and Cmajor KEY

    lets try another

    F#9#5#11 (can even be reg 7th chord)
    resolves to C maj7

    another

    A7 resolves to Fmaj7

    another

    B7 resolves to F#maj7

    another

    D#9 resolves to Emaj7

    what we are doing is connecting related keys
    spend some time with this trust me! (as far as you can throw me haha)
