In both, win and phone, I'm using free version of Essential PIM since years.
The paid version allows to synchronize both, but I don't need it as I use it in complementary different ways.
    No spy on your activity.

I have used the calendar in Mail, yes. Set up to sync with my Google account, that syncs to my Apple account.

Sync works everywhichway so I get alerts where ever I am and can set them up also like so. So far no missed meetings/appointments/deadlines.

There's also the good ol' fallback: miss one and people will let you know. Ok, doesn't really work that well with the taxman, but otherwise...

I only use the iPhone calendar, because I always have my phone on me, and I can't carry a big old paper calendar in my back pocket 24/7

I used to use Outlook for my email and used the calendar in there when I needed it. for home use I have a bunch of paper calendars and just mark those up to my hearts contents. at the end of the year I look at all the shit i did (or didn't get around to..)

Outlook is handy as contact manager as well and you can print out all your contacts and phone numbers and notes to keep them on file when your computer crashes and burns, or you lose your phone or whatever.

there's a free copy called Essential PIM and a paid version PIM-Pro, don't get the Pimp-Pro ,thats human trafficing manager, made that mistake once...

Yeah I didn't see your post til after i posted a link, its a great program and its been getting updates for years. Since i gave up outlook, I might have load Pim-pro back on my computer and see if I can hook it to my email accounts.
