There's only ever been one good Scottish band.

Also, the Pogues played Irish music but I think they're really an English band. Formed in Kings Cross London, Shane McGowan was born in Kent. He's about as Irish as I am. Though unlike Shane, I didn't go to public school.

Dexy's Midnight Runners -- also not Irish.

Anyway, the one good Scottish band? Sensational Alex Harvey Band.
    Next!

Simple Minds. Such beautiful, immense sounding production. I love this whole "Sparkle In The Rain" album a lot.

Ultravox... what to say about the band that influenced so many bands from synth to rock? They will always have a special place in my heart, especially Midge Ure who's vocals are so perfect (especially on Visions In Blue... mamma mia!) and John Foxx for his mastery of keyboards and synth sounds. This song manages to wet my eyes every time... tickles my hyper-sensitivity just right.

U2. Not a big fan of U2 but those early works are really good. "Unforgettable Fire" is my fav song from them. Very emotional. I'm a sucker for emotional songs.

    Cheers! :headbang:

And the colours spin through alcohol
Red wine that punctures the skin... fuuuuuuuck :(

You all can go fuck off (I mean it only in the nicest way) if you think that AC/DC is an Australian band. They are and were Scots all, Malcom, Angus and as well Bon Scott. Go eat a vegemite sandwich on me if you think otherwise, you wankers and wombats!
