Why was she the only one awake? She theorised it was because the last thing she remembered before stasis was watching a restored virtual reality copy of the ancient movie The Theory of Everything. Or maybe it was because of her motor neurone disease? But everyone else aboard the ship had at least one human major illness and they were silent and waiting to arrive at their destination. That was whole point of their journey after all....to find the cure for death.
