despite being a "newbie" sounds like you have been around a while?

why don't you apply for mod.. ? ( if you aren't already )

anyway... I thinks SAiNT could choose some good mods from members here... I'm confident he knows who
has and has not crossed to the dark side..

Yes I have been around for awhile.

No, I'd make a crappy mod.

Yes, I'm also confident that SAiNT knows what's up and will figure it all out.

    I don't get it.
You mean mods at AudioZ or here?
If you mean here, then most of the mods are gone, if that makes you happy. :dunno:

I disagree, i think it comes down to more than that. It comes down to the community to review them, and talk to other mods and SAiNT in particular with any happenings that may be questionable. I wont vote in this topics poll as i believe that if they are true to the forum and audioz, they should stay. But if their heart is elsewhere, let them go.

Some people make here exclusively their home for their questions and topics and some for posting things in AZ. We want the people modding here who have their heart here. And it obviously takes a lot to keep things in check, but also ideas and opinions are needed to keep here and AZ in proper manageable condition and with the flow of things. The community isnt getting any smaller. More people are joining every day.

We need people to help the community, not run it. But help it stay clean and prosperous. Be it the AS current team (which i believe is just Saint, Andrew and Arctic Storm [i could be wrong but i dont see Mykal on the staff board anymore, and Intro Ninja/Kontakt Guru has been inactive since July]; AZ i believe is just Saint, Pirat, and Zeger Wu (i dont really know who zeger wu is [dont see any comments or thread or messages from them or about them], but that doesnt mean anything), or a couple new faces on the team to pop in and out. I try to stay neutral. Just my thoughts.

I asked this in another thread, but didn't get an answer, so I'll ask it here. On another site there are uploads of 2 different softwares by hexwars, and they're marked "internal" in the title, but when I opened them up there was no keygen or patch. Does this mean they're not cracked, or what? Please excuse my ignorance, but why would some group upload something that isn't cracked? I don't get it.

i get the bitching... but on the other hand. You have a big-ass group of people.. ok. the "community". And in this "community" there's literally a handful of people bustin 'dey ass daily. While, a majority of "community" just dl'n... "dl'n like a villain" :D (see what I did there :D)

we dont see the "numbers" in terms of who contribute and dont.
but the daily-ass-busters know... or at least a few do, and then they mention to the "community" a million times so that we all know now.

bottom line, a few do a SHITLOAD... while a LOT do much more than download... while now... some that just download, now say thanks... or something.

    I get the "internals." :dunno:

p.s. Mr Anonymous (or Amine) was right... some internals, are based on watermarked products, that need at least one OTHER watermarked version to compare against, so watermarking can be removed, and THEN openly released... till then, why not hook up some of your compadres that you know you can trust... I did that once or maybe twice... probably more like once :D

Hell... you want an internal "op"? (i know you werent askin... but I'll PM you, and take a chance that you are "cool".. so... I'll take a chance on you, just to hook-it-up... now thats community!!! :D

though, you might not be interested if we in different genre interests.

Imagine how childish behaviour that shows to other audio-related forums. It only breaks our credibility and recognition as "Professional Audio Lovers" .
But we'll rise from the ashes like Phoenix, and time will fix the rest.

Any suggestion how should we do that? :dunno:
That looks complicated, and would break the desired anonymity of the "few remaining mods".

I agree 100%, and I'd like to add that moderators should talk to each other regularly too, in order to keep aiming for the same direction.
It sure can be a hard fight at times as opinions and ideas can differ greatly, but finding a compromise that everyone is ready to support is one of the foundations of a stable community.
Running a site like this one for years can make some members drift apart, but that's a natural thing.

There's a reason why Teams keep it internal.... now use the brain
Also, with all the stuff that you can already have without spending a single cent (Even when you can afford it), everyone here can already produce music for 10 years, without the (Greedy, and unlogical) need to have new stuff every day.
I see REQ all days of things that get out in that same day, and stuff that don't even cost 5€ or 5$. :snuffy:
For sure many of this request can be filled by many of us... It's cheaper than a 6 pack of beer or a pack of smokes... :excl:

I've been gone for about a year and a half, but the reason some things stay "internal" is that they might have incriminating watermarks with user identifying info. So only those who can be trusted to not leak that info get to have access. It's not elitest, it's for the safety of the people who supply.

We'd all like to have the best new stuff asap, but to respect the people who actually make it happen is foremost.

Terms like "leechers" are created out necessity to describe when people start to feel entitled to everything BECAUSE REASONS

It was just matter of time when someone will try to sell internal releases. Scene racers who leak scene releases to private trackers have good money from it too so now this trend is going to P2P.

I voted "no" because I have no informed opinion on the matter; I just had to do the "Coke-or-Pepsi" thing because voting is one of the few rights we have left, even if the elections are rigged years in advance.

This kind of thing is why I don't belong to any local music scene; I'm content with letting my genius flourish alone with my computer, unfettered by back-stabbing and circle-jerking.

    Keep rockin' the mic, Saint.

Yeah. I think some portion of the outrage is based on an idea that's not even remotely accurate. When people hear internal they think R2R, HW, etc. Not the case.

For the last ~two weeks I was sent a whopping four or five things in private. At least one was 'internal' because it contained a retail license. Two were patches. A couple things I'd never heard of. None of it was the big ticket stuff everyone is imagining. Only one was of any practical use to me, but I was grateful and happy to be included.

    If
someone misled me about the reason for arguing with people about backing off of requests/complaints/whatever directed at the teams, that's on him/them, and the fact that I backed him up is on me. I do know for a fact that people like copy and zeus agreed with Cat--maybe they were misled too, maybe not. But way before any of that, Cat went out of his way to be kind and helpful to me, and did the same for many other people so I trusted him. I could see that he coveted his position and was prideful, but I wrote it off as being passionate about what he does, and wasn't remotely aware of any of the more nefarious allegations.

When the hex comparing/R2R-based work thing became an issue, I felt that things had gone a little too far, and when the "R2R based...prohibited" thread was all said and done I kind of checked out and told Cat in a pm that I didn't agree with that facet of it.

Whatever the truth of the matter is, I still like Cat. He was good to me way before any of this. If anyone wants to hold it against me, that's their prerogative.
