    Pros rejoice and behold,
Intel announced new lineup of Xeon processors,

with DDR5 quad channel RAM support and 64 PCIe lanes and up to 24 cores (48 threads) for W-2400 series and even more for W-3400 series

looks like I could finally replace my aging X99 i7-5820K quad-channel DDR4 setup with something newer when moving to Windows 11 :chilling:

PS: Apple can scratch their long-awaited upcoming Apple Silicon Mac Pro again, they can't compete with that

How do you think they will fare against AMD?

This is what i don't like about Intel, from 359 to 669dollars for two extra cores? (yes yes i know about the base clock and all) in 2023?...

i have always been a HEDT platform user, from the x79 to x99 and now x299, and looking at this is kinda sexy for me, but if they want to make people take an intrest they might need to revise their pricing...

right now, AMD has no HEDT platform, so there's nothing to compare with really, hopefully Ryzen 7000 HEDT series will launch this year

if you look closely, it's from 529 to 669 for two extra cores (so roughly 88 bucks per core on 6-core model, and 84 on 8-core model, that seems reasonable),
knowing Intel for years, they will definitely do some crippling fuckery on that low tier 359 cpu, so better forget about it right away xD

Their Threadripper chips were released to consumers just last year, granted it is ddr4. Their 7000 replacements are either by EoY or Q1 '24.

Makes sense, I'll give it some time for the platform to be released and matured enough for prices to regulate and ill jump on it, always been fun of hedt! :like:

For now I'll stick to my machine :bleh:

I would wait for some benchmarks before jumping on some conclusions.
