    That's not because of your CPU dude, it's the audio interface problem. Interface is picking up the system interference and that is what you hear on your monitors ...on the headphones probably too. If the connection to your monitors is unbalanced I can say it's 100% interface problem. I have it too, but just on my headphones, that's the only unbalanced connection in my system. My audio interface is rme hdspe aio.

    But why would a CPU with lower speeds cause no problems? Still the same interface..
    @spacetime:
    Is your system on a grounded wall socket? What PSU do you have? I would maybe replace it..

    @boomoperator Well yea, that is a little strange. Maybe it is PSU.

    I am not that knowledgeable about technical aspects, but from what I gathered around the web, I just wanted to tell that the CPU is probably the least common culprit for that kind for problem.

    I run a 4790k on an aftermarket air cooled system at 4ghz and it runs quite and cool. at the minute its at 37deg c. its a z97 motherboard and 16gb ddr3.

    My old projects that were maxing my old computers cpu to 100% on an overclocked 3.6ghz core 2 8500 (i think) 4gb ram, dont even touch this i7. i don't think i have seen the cpu usage any higher that 30% when re loading those old projects.

    i think for music production you would really struggle to push an i7 to its limits. And if you are then something cant be right :)

    :) haha yea I still use 2600k, and this is the reason I havent upgraded. The performnce diffrnce is so small, it juat shows up as a few percent using benchmarking tools, real world difference is ao small, it is not worth the price to pay. I have frequently been thinking about upgrading, but sense has always come back to me. When the difference is doubling or more the performance, then it is worth it. i7 is a beast and has been since it first arrived.

    Speaking of 4790k, somebody is buying one, together with a Geforce 750 ti in the US for me. Please help me find a low budged mobo, around U$ 110 or under. I must decide today, so it's a little urgent. Thanks in advance!

    @ shomyca
    i dont hear it on the headphones.

    Monitor connection is balanced. I replaced my scarlett with a motu which has its own power supply. Still the same little bitch whining noise

    rme too expensive for my needs

    @boomoperator
    it looks like a grounded socket, cant measure it

    psu is non removable in this dell sff 9020

    @mlb4sheaz
    it is really fast, with enough ram and an ssd you can do anything fast

    @peoples
    could connecting the audio interface to a pci usb slot remove the connection between the usb and other system components remove noise interference from the signal?

    First, I would borrow some interface from someone and try that with your system.

    I have the same processor and similar build, I believe the problem comes from a ground loop issue. Are your speakers plugged into the same outlet or power strip as the computer?

    YES!
    I thought of this before and connected the speakers to another outlet then my pc. Unfortunately this outlet gave the same noises..

    Having switched outlets to the other side of the room for the monitors only has given me peace and silence now.

    Groundyloops, not good

    i7 4790 best cpu ever made, probably
