    The Clash as hero for mankind. One, if not the most important "folk" bands or performers of the 20th century and beyond. They share honors with Pete Seeger, Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Woody Guthrie and many others (please add in those who I neglect to remember) who speak for masses who usually have no voice of their own. The greatest punk band, period. One of the greatest bands ever, period. Saw them at the Palladium, NYC 10/29 1979 (Just as London Calling began I blew chunks from the bad Chinese food I ate a bit before the show). It was recorded. Listen here and hear what I did.
