    Retainment.

Theres a huge community of Maschine users and not everyone is going to jump ship to MPC. Most NI users are deeply committed to the NI environment. If you're a Maschine users like me, youre either going to stick with Maschine for as long as its supported, or move to something else entirely. The likelihood that a Maschine user will move to an MPC is significantly less than if they just continue to develop Maschine. And if they want to keep that customer base, that's what they have to do. InMusic manages a shit ton of intellectual properties with overlap, its just different flavors and that's ok as long as they continue to incentivize retention by continuing development.

The German company Waldorf also went through insolvency at one point; they truly learned from that experience—they even went on to release new, innovative products! One must also keep a close eye on the competition and make the right decisions.
