I know we've remained longer than we first anticipated but there is just so much to see and do. I've actually been here on previous occasions and made some good friends who happened to contact me last night and expressed a desire to take us out on the town and show us the sights. They frequent some interesting clubs and underground hot spots so I hope you've all gotten enough rest. Get dressed, grab what you think you'll need and let's get out and about because we have some traveling time ahead of us. The good news is we're going to get there in style and we'll have a nice view during our journey. A word of warning: the sector they're taking us to is on the brink of revolutions of one kind or another so the powers that be have clamped down mercilessly on the citizens. You will find that the inhabitants are evolving in strange and inexplicable ways and these changes have brought with them an awareness that they must take action against the oppressive nature of this place and it's ruling elite. We're sure to see a serious police presence, raids and systems of surveillance throughout our travels so you guys need to be aware of your surroundings and stick together at all times. This should be interesting so tune in those receivers, you already know the station ...

We’re about to be arriving shortly so gather all your belongings and strap yourself in for landing sequence. There will be guards at the entrance to this sector so just act normal and don't give them any reason to stop us. These guys aren't playing around and believe me they will shoot you in the head without a moment's hesitation if they are provoked in any way. Things are very tense here and they have itchy trigger fingers with all the revolts that have been spilling out into the streets. Let me do the talking so I can get us to our destination safely and without incident...

We've just been granted access but those guards were eyeing me the whole time. I'm glad we've got that out of the way and it was uneventful though. They mentioned that if we plan on getting out of the city we should do it soon because word is that there might be orders coming down to lock it up tight. This place has changed since last I've visited and I fear we've put ourselves in a really dangerous situation. Oh well we've already come all this way so you might as well check out the view of the city, its technology and inhabitants while I take us to where we need to go. Of course I've got music to accentuate the experience. (Rolma I think you will really like our next artist and best of all it's a woman...and she rocks.)

Which release were you using? There's 2 recent releases of the bundle by R2R and AIR. If both don't work for you maybe try rolling back to the previous ones by ASSiGN. I just checked and my bundle is still working. Let me know if I can help in any way.

I'm glad that you got it sorted, can't live without Korg in your veins and particularly for me with my Industrial inclinations. :grooves:
I'm really glad that you're enjoying the tracks I put up. Yendri is a really talented artist and she was actually mentioned by Wumpscut who is a legend in the genre. I think that helped her career a lot and she really improved her compositions on the last album which was perfection. Geomatic is kick-ass too and certainly gets that blood pumping, reminding me that I'm alive (sometimes I forget). Concerning compositions: you have to remember that these people spent, in most cases, 10 - 20 years perfecting their sound. Nobody just wakes up one day and makes magic as that takes study, practice and time. I enjoyed your music and if you do too that's all that matters. Yes you strive to improve but that will never end so you might as well enjoy the journey. Believe me I catch myself thinking that way sometimes because the yardstick by which I measure myself is otherworldly and it really makes you feel humble let me tell you. Artists I admire put in a lot of work and plenty of the original Industrial lineup ironically did know how to play. Actually SAiNT and I had an interesting conversation on this topic when we first started talking. Anyway talk to you soon Rolma and have a great weekend everyone.

Korg synthesizers were used in Industrial a lot particularly the MS-20 and MonoPoly which you can find in plug-in form in the Korg bundle floating around.

[IMG]You know you're dealing with a bunch of idiots when people actually complain about Binary Park being shitty music. They're probably the hottest Industrial act out right now, their tracks have real IMPACT and have even garnered the support of Front Line Assembly itself. Frito this one's for you.

Ah yes! Brilliant additions Rolma! Great taste!

The Quay brothers shorts are hallucinogenic nightmares, also, adam smith, the bassist from TOOL that made the excellent "sober" and "prison sex" videos said in interviews that he drew direct inspiration form the Brothers Quay

The Brothers Quay were inspired by Jan Svankmajer...his movie "ALICE" has haunted me since i was in high school and i watched it on acid by myself...

maybe that's why a part of me is so twisted and demented?

    and @Catalyst:

nice choices! you know i have never heard of Binary Park before, thanks for turning me on to that

And i have to give it up for My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult!!!!!!!!!

Always loved the goofy acid-soaked satanic cult vibe they had

one of my favs of the 90's industrial- remember when they were in "The Crow" Movie?

god i loved taht movie when it came out, its o cheesy now but then, man, it was THE movie to have sex with when you were 16 (like i was lol)

In my original analysis of Industrial, i forgot to mention the outright sexuality dripping from alot of Industrial music..

i'll forgo the Freudian analysis of all the metaphors of the heavy machinery slamming into each other and pistons racing in and out, and just focus on teh more basic psychological aspect of the primitive percussion and raw emotional, er..."discharge" of most Industrial Music
    (giggles)

Maybe it's the Pagan in me, and the fact I've been to 3 Burning Man Festivals in the late 90's, but the music for me carries such an emotional weight it evokes senses and feelings in some people so intense they usually are "scared" of industrial, because deep inside they are vulnerable to the ancient genetic memories of beating on drums while sitting around primitiv fires...

here's some of the more , shall we say, sensual sensibilities, of industrial music:

We'll start again with My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult: After the Flesh

(featured on the EXCELLENT Crow soundtrack and also the band makes an appearance in the movie itself!)

A thought drop by before my bed time on 1984!

There are few film versions of 1984, but I have never found a genuine one able to bring to life all the sense Orwell words, the utter criticism against the Stalinism and the cold war.
Maybe the 1984 version spends some interesting time showing how the history is amended, re-pieced, re-explained. In fact it reminds me a lot the current production techniques where the final product is not enhanced is seriously collaged.
