Still not sure what you're asking for here @R.S

Nice voice, but I think you need to a good look at the relative volume levels throughout, maybe let us know what you want?

Thanks for the feedback. I will surley work on those levels. Percussion is too dominating, but hey Phil Collins is a drummer so I kinda wanted to exaggerate that a bit. :) Cheers!

"The drums lack of that certain bang, if you know what I mean. Probably the main challenge for everyone who wants to cover In the Air Tonight, because Phil’s very own drum sound is an essential part of ItAT’s success and magic." Hmmm :) Cheers

You know, I wonder how those recorder wheels turn at same speed, when there's less tape on the pickup reel than on the feeder?

You need that '80s "gated drum" sound, and the drums are not dominating, listen to the original, way more up front. I do
like the vocals and the overall instrumentation. Keep at it, it will be worth the effort.

    Bloody brilliant effort!

To get closer to the original, here's what the track needs IMHO:

    * He didn't sing it as a close-mic ballad. His voice was thrown from more of a distance. He almost shouted it, you are licking the listener's ear.
    * The cymbals are too loud.
    * Oh back to the voice.. there was some vocoder-type effect on the voice but I think only on the "..well I remember!" part, not all the way through. I think it was more of a gated echo.
    * Listen again to the original - the drumming and percussion has a haunting effect on the listener.

But hey, you've recorded an excellent cover.

I think it's a nice cover version and I like the different approach. The original has been done, so why produce an exact remake? No one needs that.

Ok, the cyms are bit too loud and too upfront, they don't fit to the bd and sn.
