Impact Soundworks Shreddage 2 vs 3

    Hi there, probably many of you use Shreddage or at least heard of it.

    in my case i have been using it alot, but one of the changes between version 2 and 3 is that legacy mode in articulations, where you can either trigger a "sustain" "harmonics" and even "palm mutes" just by changig the velocity of the note...

    with version 3 however i struggle just to do that.

    do you know how to make Shreddage 3 act in legacy mode as it's second version counter part?

    You can change how articulations trigger under "TACT (Articulation Setup)" at the very bottom of your instrument screen.

    I do not even know what this "Legacy mode" is :hahaha:. I just take the usual keyswitches if it's something about this :).

    Legacy mode is mainly about having multiple articulation at the same time, you decide by changing the velocity note, max velocity used to trigger artificial Harmonics, high velocity sustain and low velocity Palm mutes, i'm working on migrating old project with the 3rd version... wont be possible without figuring this first.

    Ah okay. No, I do not use this because how do you change how "thick" those mutes are then?

    i believe you can do that with it's own velocity range.

    The way I have it set up in TACT is I have Sustains on C-1 Vel 80-127, Palm Mutes on C-1 Vel 1-79. The same way you can also put pinch harmonics on the same key switch and put it on Vel 127 and turn sustains to 126. Here are my snapshots of how I've got my guitars set up. Just drop them into your Documents/Native Instruments/User Content folder and it should work. (They should be under "User" category in Kontakt snapshots selection)
    I don't have S2 versions installed but from my memory it was set up kind of like this, don't remember the exact numbers that were default in S2 but I've used these settings in S2 and old midi files from old projects work as good as they did in S2 as they do in S3 now.

    Select highlighted camera icon on the right if it's not for you, then on the left press little triangle facing down, it'll open snapshot menu and choose the one you want. I've highlighted mine on the picture.

    Don't see much point in this, it's just a simple settings tweak, not much of a contribution to a sister site. But if anyone wants to do it, go right ahead, I don't mind.
