Friends there is some guidance to use it in Cubase ? how to record tracks with any VSTi ? in short, as you set to make it sound instead of midi keyboard? It does not appear in cubase between MIDI devices , I get only the voice from the microphone but the instrument does not play

 

I havent tested it yet, but probably Imitone is only a MIDI tool, not a plugin/VSTi. It would make sense because is from a small developer.

If it's the case, you have to run Imitone, Cubase and a virtual MIDI cable util. Th en you configure Imitone's MIDI output and a Cubase MIDI track input to be the same.

 

strange because ' they say , and ' adaptable in any DAW

 

I'm a registered user. It's still in the beta stage, I believe. Many of the features are yet to come. It has amazing potential. Just sing, hum, etc. and you generate a midi sequence. I'm crap at translating what's in my head to actual notes so this is a fantastic tool for me.

 

Its working in REAPER. I guess this guide will help in all DAWs:
* IMITONE installs virtual MIDI port on your system (imitone)

- start the IMITONE app (so the MIDI driver is initialized)
- start your DAW
- activate the (imitone) virtual MIDI port in your DAW (if needed)
- create instrument track
- load your favorite VSTi and arm the track
- select the track midi input/channel -> (imitone)
- enjoy

In fact I tried with any sequencer but I never see any midi device of imitone

even I only tried with kontakt , but nothing , his midi device is not in ,

 

to someone who works, you could make a movie ? that explains the settings to make it work ? it would be useful for those who can not activate it thanks

 

did you start the app BEFORE the DAW? (you need to do this and keep it open till you need it - when you close IMITONE the MIDI port driver gets unloaded)

 

yes sure I open before IMITONE and then the Sequencer but never appears nothing like midi

 

It's exactly like @Exidus says.

Many MIDI tools are not plugins because MIDI is an standard and the developer doesn't have to mess with VST frameworks. Besides, the plugin MIDI standard is somewhat confusing. The con is that these tools need virtual MIDI ports (usually a third party tool) to be able to route MIDI between MIDI software.

You can use it routing from your DAW and IMItone itself. It's not easy, I can tell. You can get help with any MIDI tool which is not a plugin. I'd search for MIDI translator, Transmidifier tutorials.

go to the setup option in imitone. It will show what audio input is accepting audio and what midi output is sending midi out. Make sure the midi output that imitone displays is selected in cubase as a midi in device. Think of imitone as a virtual midi keyboard you need to route to your daw.

'cause by following the same procedure , both in KONTAKT that in Cubase , I do not not show that both the MIDI module IMITONe
