Hello,

Does anyone know of a vst for windows, that you can load images up into, and maybe notes?
I am using Live 10 and it should support images and video but apparently, it actually doesn't so I am looking for alternatives.

For video I don't know. There's one from the above developer but it's like 50$

Ableton says that it does, but it doesn't actually work.

 

I came across it but it's Mac only, no Windows.

I kind of meant notes along with images, not only notes. But thanks, I might find a use for it.

 

Like I said, I believe twice already, Ableton's official stance is that it can open video and images but it actually can't. In View-» Video Window is completely greyed out and upon trying to drag and drop an image or video file in Ableton I get an error "could not be read. It may be corrupt or unlicensed." with any type of image or video file.

I have other people report the same thing.

 

It does -or should- work. But working with video in DAWs can be quite frustrating..
First, the link @recycle posts mentions Quicktime video.. Do you have Quicktime installed?
Second, the samplerate of a video and DAW-project should match. Most music producers work in 44.1 Khz, most videos are in 48 Khz. Importing such a video in a 44.1 Khz project won't work. You should alter the samplerate of the project, or re-render the video in 44.1
Lot's of video-converting software can do that.

Then, when working with video, you better don't use the -common- H264 or AVC codec. That's because these codecs are heavy on the CPU.
In a DAW they can result in stuttering playback and a-sync video.
It's best to use a Less-CPU intense videocodec such as AVID DNxHD, PhotoJPEG or DV. Apple has it's Pro-Res codec (both for Mac & Windows)
To use, you should install one of these codecs, and convert your video with it.

 

I have the latest quicktime available installed. I am mostly interested in images so I don't know how sample rate would come into place, that is why I am asking for alternatives.

What do you want to do?
Maybe bounce the track and do the video stuff in a video editor?

 

I had found it on a blog post that said it's Mac only, don't know what they were on about. Anyway, it works, kind of sucks that it won't scale down but great to see it has multiple images capability. Thank you!
