    apples to oranges... we're still comparing VMProtect to Denuvo
    comparison could have been more interesting with a game that applies both.

    Anyway, if you check Denuvo's marketing material, they talk about not applying their anti tamper to the whole game but just to some parts, guess they would exclude an AI. On the other hand, it has been said IL used VMProtect for their UI to prevent skinning...

    but will fl 20 get me to stop being lazy and actually put effort into mastering my songs instead of hitting render and hoping for the best?

    I agree, the comparison would have been a bit more interesting if a game like AC:Origins was involved.

    While they do say that they only apply the protection in some parts, it's ultimately up to the developers on how it's been implemented from what I've read. In the case of Rime, the protection was so aggressive that it severely impacted the performance of the game and once removed, similar results to FL 20.0.4's performance increase were experienced by the players.

    On the topic of skinning, I can see where IL is coming from but skins have been a thing for FL Studio for several years. They can't simply expect the community to just sit there while that part of the experience is taken away from them, so if they utilized VMP for the UI for a reason like that then I'd say those resources would have been better used elsewhere rather than something as petty as skinning. It would make more sense if it was implemented that way as another circumvention to cracking, though.
