Hello, I'm new to the forum, but not new to the site as I've been a lurker for a bit. I don't know the culture of the forum yet so please, don't take my words or anything the wrong way.

Over the last couple of months, when downloading, I noticed a ton of pop ups. I read that if you join the pop ups will disappear. Sadly, this has not happened and I don't know what to do. When I click on some of the pages to even get the link to download, I'm hit with ransomware pop ups telling me my hard drive will be deleted, microsoft needs money, etc. Is this supposed to be happening or what? How do I stop this from happening?

those pop-ups are coming from peeplink not from audioz. you need to do two things:

    1) create a free account for peeplinks and stay logged in.

    2) add the ublock origin add-on to your browser.

Is it really a peeplink issue? Try this little experiment.
Without being logged in, unless you have ad blockers on, navigate through all the AZ pop ups and open a topic.
Mouse over any link and you'll find it doesn't present itself as clickable and doesn't show an address in the tool bar.
Click anywhere on a blank piece of screen to set the ads and pop ups off (why it's so wise to adblock on AZ now).
Now hover over the peeplink again and you'll see it's clickable with the destination address showing up.
Press the browser back button and try again or another topic and it's repeatable.
That, to me, looks like it's on the AZ pages and nothing really to do with peeplink.
Of course PL can add it's own pop ups, but with adblock on, I don't see them.
Just be really careful on that site now.

That's great, for you, but going by the posts and topics on the subject, clearly a lot of people do. Just saying.
I now only use the site as a back door in to here by way of the feed, to see what topics are hot, but I stand by the warning.
U block is good and almost an essential, but what really stops the re-directs (in chrome) is 'javascript pop up blocker'. Tool up, for sure.

Well, I don't have Chrome and no 'javascript pop up blocker'. What I do have is FF, uBlock Origin (important, there's another uBlock, but only origin is from the original author) and Ghostery. Nothing more. But on the sister site I don't experience any popups nor ads. Also note that I don't have a peeplink account.
