hi all, I have an audio vocal track, I have added vocodex to inputs for that track. I have selected a preset. I have inserted an instrument track and routed that to the instance of vocodex and painted chords. During normal playback this midi info triggers the vocodex. During mix down however, this isn't the case. Any idea how to route this plugin to achieve desired results?

I managed to work this out. A bit of fiddling but I got there in the end.

Write the output on other track, don't use the bounce.

I put an instance of Sytrus on the instrument track, zero'd it. On my audio vocal track, I selected sidechain and sent the Sytrus track to that sidechain then selected post on the send. In vocodex I then selected the sidechain modulation selection, chose the sound I wanted bottom left of vocodex and also selected the same sound in Sytrus. It was then a matter of dialling in the settings in vocodex to my liking. I've only scratched the surface but now that I can control the thing I'm now good to go.

The mistake I made was treating vocodex like other midi driven effects. Simply routing the instrument track to the audio track. This does not work with vocodex because that is not how a vocoder works as I found out.

yes indeed, what actually happens is that the carrier signal is just an ordinary synth.
which is included in vocodex but with limitations.
what is interesting about this is, that you could use any synth to feed that to vocodex as an carrier signal which really expands the possibility's.

I would start with some oldskool super-synths if someone is interested.
