This is probably a pretty silly question, but is it actually possible to have the IK Product Manager installed alongside the latest release on the sister site and use ToneNET, say to purchase some of the new Third-Party capture packs?

    Not.
Because ToneX will call home, stop working and may be your account locked.
You can't blend paid/sister site with IK

You might as well start uploading full libraries again. With the latest update, Tonex loads almost instantenously, regardless of the library file size.

Will the IK Product Manager allow downloading Tonex as a file to save and not install? I'm running on MacOS so as a .dmg file.

    I figured it out.:dunno:

I guess so if someone bought those collections and supply them to the community so they can upload them or the buyer upload it.

I really like how now I can add user libraries individually based on my favorites on Tonenet. Just download the captures you like , load into Sql lite editor, export as CSV and then import them back to your existing tx ' library.db ' .This way, it's way more effecient and avoids bloating your DB file.

It's still slow asf inside Amplitube, at least for me.

In standalone mode, as well as within a DAW, Tonex loads in about 5-10 seconds on my 10yo PC, using the biggest database available. I don't use Amplitube in conjuction with Tonex, so I can't comment on that.

Yeah i know but i haven't got time to make a custom Library.db yet and as i dont download anything from tone.net i must edit Rodgers upload here so it will take alot of time especially since i use so many different tones i play almost every genre so i need many different amps everything from early 50's Gibsons,Magnatone,Fenders etc
    60's Fender,Vox,Hiwatt,Marshalls,Orange,SUNN,Supro etc
    70's Mesa MKI,Marshalls,Orange,Laney,Roland JC120etc
    80's Dumble,Trainwreck,Marshalls, Mesa MKIIC+ & MKIII,Soldano, Peavey 5150 etc
90's Mesa Rectifiers, Peavey 6505, VHT,Bogner etc etc and all those rack preamps like Soldano SP77,Lee Jackson,Mesa Studio Quad and Triaxis,ADA MP-1,ART SGX200 etc
2000 - today Diezel,ENGL,Hughes&Kettner,PRS,Revv and of course all those boutique amps that has become very popular today among pro players like DrZed,Divided by 13,Fortin,Friedman,Brunetti, Skrydstrup (Scorpion) ,Olsson (Opeth) ,Hermansson amp mod 5 gain stages (Messugah),Mezzabarba, to name just a few
Sure i could easely be ok (and frankly its all i ever really need) with a couple of Fenders, a Dumble, some Marshalls some hot rodded Mrshalls like SLO100 Friedman BE-100 and some high gain amps like Engl Mesa Diezel & Revv amps but since we have all options available why be limited with the mention amps :)

It's not a custom library. It's a full size library with all the captures available. It's almost 300 mb. In theory, this library should take the most time to load. Still, it only takes around 5 seconds when I open Tonex within a DAW. It's a massive improvement. Before the update, I had to wait 10 minutes, before I could start using Tonex with a library this big. EDIT: sorry, I replied to a post that wasn't related to me. It happens, but the point is still valid.

i bet the Tonex in amplitube use the same library.db as Tonex is so if you have follow this thread you can learn how to create a custom library db, that only includes the amps you want and of course Tonex will then load alot faster,
It require some computer skills and it does of course take some time the problem for me is that i didn't jump on that train when it first was posted here, so i have to go thrue 14487 captures sure i can propbably delete alot of those without even load them in and hear how they sound.
But then i might miss some cool sounds
Luckily for me i have kept all Rodgers upload here from Tone.net including the very first one so i can always load in the first one and start from there.
I just checked how fast Tonex loaded for me it took 10 sec to load the standalone version and get the screen that show "choose your audionterface bla bla" and that with a 10 year old desktop PC using Win 7 pro..
So i really dont need to edit the full library just to make Tonex load faster but i sure need to edit the library.db it so it is way more easy to find the amps i use.
Trying to load Tonex in Amplitube 5 standalone seems to take forever it has gone 3 min now and nothing seems to happen.
Havent tried the Vst versions yet.

Plz some mastermind do figure out a way to use tone.net with a cracked software! Now all the interesting 3rd party tonex profilers are selling their packs only through tone.net. Michael Nielsen has released amazing stuff which I cannot currently access. Sniff...

I wonder if it is possible to buy third party profiles while using the free version of Tonex? I would not like to buy profiles via Tonenet only to find that the free profile limit prevented me from downloading 3rd party profiles which I paid for.

I don't think it will happen just read R2R's NFO "we dont support Tone.NET as it is web service"
It is sort of similar to Positive Grid Bias and Bias has been around with web service for many years and still noone has been able to crack it.

I set up an IK account with fake details and installed the free Tonex CS. I then installed the Full R2R version, blocked the IK servers in the hosts file, ran the Keygen and made sure it was working. Then I just unblocked the txc hosts entry and Tonex Max now works with Tonenet. I did this months ago and it has worked fine ever since with every new update.
