I wonder why IK does not propose an easy tool to build banks/libraries we could call whatever we want.
ToneX pedal proposes 150 presets, so libs of 150 presets ?

 

Because they want you to use their CLOUD
Yes you can import presets/captures from outside (commercial ones ...)

But the first purpose was to create the gigantic ONLINE Tonenet
Total Tone Models: 13,131

Their tool is already here : online cloud

WE use ToneX this way because we can't use ToneNet with sister site version.
Other ppl use ToneNet and don't even know there is a database

On the other side, ToneNet doesn't offer a proper tool to FILTER OUT the crap.
Same problem WITH ALL cloud communities (Mooer "Samples" being one of them).
Same will happen with NAM and all others.

Too many choice kill the tool for a lot of ppl

 

I've only had the Tonex pedal and legit software but I found there are ratings, packs for high gain and and a funnel icon that lets you choose what you want and then when you connect the pedal, voila, all the captures you selected are there for download.
Worked so well that I'm still going through the captures to see which ones can go so I can try new ones.
One hundred and fifty amps should be enough
My standards and expectations have been raised by these options and I keep finding better, harmonically richer captures.
This cheap pedal is my most cost effective equipment investment in decades

 

For sure it is an amazing pedal.
Especially for ppl like me who concentrate on base TONE (pedal amp cab), not much on effects.

Still ... too many choice at first.
Until you reduce your choice on purpose.

Example : no integrated cab for me, because most ppl s*ck at micing cabs.
Apart some "special" vintage tone on combos, because this strange speaker is part of the sound

 

Does anyone knows if there's a Randall RG100ES in the tonex cloud? Since still there isn't even a single good plugin out there it's just awful ☹️

Yeah, you gotta be ruthless weeding out stuff you're not gonna use, cos option paralysis sets in fast!

100% - the Tonex is amazing at amp captures, and taking the speaker/mic out of the equation for most people who are doing the capturing is a good idea, because most people just aren't that good at it. A lot of people aren't even that great at dialling in amps, hence the need to be ruthless with thinning out your captures library.

I'd much rather then turn to IRs that have been shot by people who literally do it for a living, day in day out.

In my library, DI captures outnumber amp+speaker captures like, 20:1, if not more. Just like ItsFine, the amp+speaker captures I do have, are weird stuff that can't be better recreated from IRs

I use full, because some of my fav "providers" have less than 20 captures.
Like SDS Sonic Drive Studio.

Only 5 amazing captures

But on the other side, some users just "throw their sh*t" by thousands !
