    @PifPafPif I would like to know your opinion regarding the NAM sound and how it compares to the TONEX sound?

    So I created the script I mentioned to merge the DBs. I use linux so it's a shellscript (but maybe can run on windows in git bash or cygwin) it just needs sqlite3 and basic bash functions to work.

    Here's the result: https://we.tl/t-cHsjEceKNM

    Sorry, my bad.
    It sounds good and NOT eq match :wink:
    But not more than a cheap Mooer GE200 anyway ...
    150 bucks second hand and a pile of free captures (see my thread on the subject)

    I was expecting something near Kemper quality :wink:

    Its superior, in the flip polarity test or ''stereo'' test (should stay in mono the capture that is almost identical to the source) nam wins over the kemper or quadcortex

    Have made it through 80 presets on the Tonex pedal and seriously modified 25 high-gain patches.
    Still haven't hooked it up to the computer, will wait until I've finished previewing all presets.
    Some captures sound so good (with my modifications, of course:)) that I can't stop playing.
    Haven't even hooked it up to my Headrush MX-5 yet, not much of an effect user with guitar.
    The onboard reverb sounds great and that's all I need most times.
    I always wondered why great players (especially jazz) would smother their playing in chorus, delay and reverb.
    That's for people who can't play to hide their mistakes.:(

    Community has made various comparisons, the same amp captured in NAM is more faithful to the real amp than the same amp captured in Tonex. There all kinds of measurements and charts about it. Doesn't mean Tonex is bad. It gives better results than Kemper and, in my opinion, on pair with QC. Notice that these are small details that probably cannot be heard, just measured. So use whatever feels better for you.

    I'm curious as to how those measurements are made, other than by ear or feel. I saw one YouTuber run a series of null tests against the various profilers. Is that a good way to scientifically measure the accuracy ("faithfulness") of the captures or is there a better way?

    Been playing with NAM last couple of days. I can just say that that thing rules and my first impressions are way beyond expectations.

    Naive question: can you use the ToneX pedal with it though?

    Yes, but you can do the following:
    1. Install sqlite3
    2. Run the following in command line (change the names of db files accordingly)

    Code:
    sqlite3 <<EOF
    attach database 'MyLibrary.db' as current;
    attach database 'LibraryFull.db' as latest;
    update latest.ToneModels set Favorite = 1 where GUID in (select GUID from current.ToneModels where Favorite = 1);
    detach database current;
    detach database latest;
    EOF

    It will set the models in the LibraryFull.db (example) as favorite based on what's favorite in your current db (MyLibrary.db)
    Not sure if it works in windows, if you get some error, try to use sqlite3 in git bash or cygwin bash.

    The same can be done for the Preset Table.

    Delay and Reverb would duplicate and prolong your mistakes, not hide them :rofl:

    Ive been thinking of updating my studio of late and was considering buying a Hotone stomp 2 and a ToneX pedal, using the loop/send/return on the Hotone Stomp to conect the ToneX. The Tonex requires an Instrument input and has a line output. My question is, has the Hotone Stomp 2 got a setting to adjust the loop/send/return section so it send a instrument level signal out, and a return signal back in at line level. also has anyone tried this method of conecting the two units, using the hotone as a pre and post effects unit and replacing the amplifier section of the Hotone with the Tonex, any help/knowledge would be appreciated.

    Brother save your Favorites as a preset then export the preset
    save them into a folder of you choice on your PC
    If you change librarys you can import your favoite presets into any Library.dib as you have them saved as presets
    When importing Saved presets it also imports the Amp and IR settings of the orginal capture
    this is what i have done then i dont care for the version of the library as my favorites are accessible for me regardless.

    hope this helps with your concerns
