Developed in collaboration with Italian boutique synth-maker Soundmachines, both these new analog synthesizers take the groundbreaking UNO Synth monophonic synth and expand it in nearly every section: more oscillators, more filters, more sequencer memory, more effects, more presets, more connections and more programmability.

UNO Synth Pro puts this amazing new sound engine in a rugged metal chassis with a 37-key semi-weighted Fatar keybed, while UNO Synth Pro Desktop provides a more portable form factor to travel anywhere.

The UNO Synth Pro’s unique dual-filter, 3-oscillator paraphonic design lets it create nearly any synth sound imaginable, and with 256 presets, a new 64-step sequencer and expanded CV/Gate and audio connections, users will quickly find it’s the ideal creation station for any outboard rig.

That's why I rated your post "funny". These dodgy little plastic synths, of which Korg, Akai, and Roland are also guilty making, are usually just a cheaply made gimmick. Not saying you can't make great tunes with them, but admit that they are just simple and boring "good old" subtractive synths put in a plastic case, assembled in some Chinese factory for $50 and sold for 5x that.

 

It's almost surreal that IK chose to price these new UNOs that way, way high that is. I'm not saying they're bad synths or anything, the original UNO for ~150e is a fun toy (don't have one, played with friend's one), but the "pro" model for the same price as the Wavestate is a big joke.

Any sound imaginable from a 3 osc monosynth? Do fuck off please.

I would not buy one, but it makes no sense comparing it to Korg Wavestate, as the UNO is analog and the Wavestate is digital, building cost is different and also sound is different.
It's a synth in the same fashion of the Mini Moog, it has morphable oscillators, FM, great filters, flexible modulation matrix. It can do a good job on monophonic sounds.

 

Behringer offers some amazing analog synth clones for ridiculous cheap prices and they sound great and are built to last as well.

 

Thats a lot of money for a monosynth, for sure, those Fatar keybeds sure do bump the price up.

 

I'd want it to do a bit more than just a good job at that price.

 

totally overpriced. there are far better analog synths available for far less money.

Never checked the original out, not on the radar really. The microfreak looks a better buy out of the budget synths to me.
