    This is looking good!
Personally this is my favorite Amp Sim sound-wise.
My 2nd would have to be guitar Rig.
Revalver is constantly improving and comes in third.

I have tried others but for overall choice of setups, looks, sounds and presets these are my top three.

Can't wait to try version 4 out! :bleh:

Yeah, I downloaded the demo & there was no option for 32 bit or 64 bit. Just one installer & when I ran it, it says 64 bit only. Also on their site under Specs it says 64 bit, no mention of 32 bit, but at the start of this post it says 32 & 64 bit. I'm not sure where they got this info from, unless they (ik multimedia) changed it?

Maybe the new tech they are using has to be 64 bit?

Nothing. Just different terms. That's why I see the option to load your own favorite IRs being ok, but for me it's no big deal. IK's built in IRs don't sound that bad.

Oh, right. I've always thought that convolution is the result of the multiplication of the original signal (convolving) against the IR, that's why it was sounding weird in my head. Perhaps it would be a nice idea indeed, but I'm wondering where do we get the other IRs? is there a page for that that I'm not aware of? (I'm the kind of guy that uses the softwares as is, so i've never experimented with IRs before, not even with reverbs that has the option to load your owns xD)

It's the same. Convolution cabinet emulation consist in applying IR (impulse responses) to the signal using the convolution math procedure.

The debate here is that there are thousands of IRs taken from thousands of cabinets/mics and due to this almost all amp sims allow loading this external IRs to replace the original cab sim. In Amplitube 4 not only the cabinet simulation is the only substancial "pure sound improvement" but they don't allow using external IRs. This could be seen as a dark move.

You can find IRs in AZ, in Youtube, in many place. Many of them freebies. Just google "cabinet impulse response".

wow looks awesome. tried the demo, looks very promising. i really hope they updated the whole underlying code regarding the picking dynamics. bias desktop trashed Amplitube in that respect. fancy things are nice for sure, but for uber-realistic amp sims, bias is still king
