    • For recording: the Audient, in my experience.
    • For mixing: the Apogee, in my experience and opinion.
You have to weigh which is most mission critical for you: mixing or recording.

If you're only recording one instrument (guitar), then I would go with the Apogee - especially if you're running a Mac and Logic.

If you're only mixing your own band, then I would go with the Apogee. The converters for the Duet 2 are modeled on the Symphony I/O - not the same, but 'modeled' after. Also, the Duet 2 is capable of handling sample rates up to 192 kHz - the ID22 maxes out at 96 kHz.

To be fair, you can't go wrong with either - the Audient is a very capable device, expandable with ADAT, and has insert points too.

I own the interface and I have no problem with latency, friend. I'm not inclined to make a statement on something I know nothing about. If you'd bothered to read any of my posts you would know that by now.

I think you're assuming that everyone is going to need an interface for the same reason you do, which is clearly not the case, as I said before the Audient latency is alright for the majority of users.

It sounds to me like you're running a lot of hardware that needs syncing, and owning a Mac, why then would you skimp on buying a budget interface (one that's highly regarded in it's price bracket), and expect it to do everything you need it to?

actually just got the smallest audient ( ID 4) for a setup I could move with me.
Very pleased with it. Usually do my stuff in my studio with RME, can't tell about apogee. I prefer my RME but the audient is solid
