Udemy could be a good learning source. Choose the tutorial right for you (...and your pocket). :drummer::chilling:

You can really find tons of tutorials on our sister site or Youtube

but, anyway... since You already know how to structure a song; instead of drawing the notes in a piano roll, play them with Your fingers on the keyboard... sounds stupid, but it is simple as that...
You already know the positions, scales, chords, progressions for the type of music You are interested in... so, now on the keyboard, everything will be faster, simpler and more creative ... Just dive in mate !

    Have a good time!
It is a great experience making some new connections in Your brains.
No other experience makes You enjoy and appreciate this phenomena like learning to play a new instrument ... You just feel Your brains rewire, and can`t get enough of it :disco:

It is a long Journey until Your hands can effortlessly follow Your thoughts, but it is worth it :guru:

    Good luck :mates:

If you produce in Ableton i'd suggest that you get the push and learn guitar instead

Learning an instrument will give you an advantage over the 1000's of producers that cant...

This will be the best thing you can do...

Good effort for even thinking about learning...

Unless you want to play some Chopin, keys are very basic.. WYSIWYG. That essentialy removes the physical layer that you have to fight with in other instruments (guitar for instance) and let's you play directly just by pressing keys.

As someone else said, you'll be doing the same that you do in the piano roll but with keys... and hopefully in real time.

What you might want to learn is some music theory. I don't believe that "how to press keys to record some midi tracks" is the info you're looking for.

    you tube taught me.
just pick a song and search for it followed by piano lesson or tutorial and you'll be amazed how quickly you'll pick it up.
oh and learn a new scale every now and then and just keeps smashing it out till it sticks
