I'm looking to upgrade I really love creating music with Ableton Live 10, FL Studio 20 but after you start to load up VSTI after VSTI then adding samples, midi and extra vst effects it starts to kill the processor so I was looking for the fastest & powerful processor computer to do my EDM & remixes on that's when I seen the i7 core pcs which are used for high level video gaming. What I was wondering is could this handle Ableton Live 10 rewired with FL Studio and loaded with VSTI Spec of the PC I'm thinking of buying.

    Mainly using it for remixing

    PC SPECS
    ADMI GAMING PC: Intel Core i7 8700K 4.7GHz 6 Core CPU, Z370 Motherboard, GTX 1080Ti 11GB Graphics Card, 16GB 2400MHz RAM, 240GB SSD + 2TB Hard Drive, H500P Gaming Case, Windows10

i7 8700k is gr8, , i have 64bit with arorus z370 gaming 7 mb, nividia gigabyte 1050ti gpu, 32gb ram and samsung evo 500 ssd, ableton works gr8 and last track i did had over 30 midi tracks with various vst and cpu was only 18 to 24% so i see ur pc specs are ok, i would go for 32gb ram and you will have no issues at all.

    Hello
I just build my new pc using 8700k 16gb of ram, 512gb nvme wd black, asrock z370 extreme4 and its a beast in music making, now if you dont plan to game at all, you really dont need 1080ti, im using integrated uhd 630 graphics and it works amazing, no probelms at all using ableton, studio one and so on.

Thanks DJK, The pc I was going to buy had 16gb ram only but I've found one with the 32gb same spec my pc at the moment is deading using Albeton, Reason Rewired, FL Studio its ok with Bitwig but with Ableton once you load 3 Nexus then starting effects on top, vocal acapellas it begins to eat the processor which means I have to keep bouncing the track which isn't great I don't know if it because its Albeton 10. The main reason I will be using the computer is for Remixing, sampling maybe some videos for youtube might play a couple of video games on downtime

Been using a x64 i7-4770 @ 3.40GHz with 16GB RAM for years (older model), and haven't needed to upgrade once. Recording, Mixing, Producing, and multiple VST instances with zero latency or dropout problems. I used to use Ableton 8 (not sure about 10 though), and never had any problems, (use Reaper now). I don't use it for gaming, but would Always recommend an i7 for Audio work ...Good choice ;)

    Hi
    I'm using Win 10 & Reaper 64 with 8 gigs of ram and Intel Core i7 3770
Mainly audio work with minimal MIDI Recording, Mixing, Producing, and multiple VST instances with zero latency or dropout problems (As for Nana Banana).
To date I have not had any problems
My Graphics card is basic NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560

there is a lot of rumours about the new intel processors!
i got my uad apollo twin mk2 quad (thunderbolt) 2 weeks ago and i'm not able to use it, because my computer at the moment doesn't support thunderbolt 3!
so i need to build a new computer(8th Generation), i wanted to go for i7-8700k coffee lake 3.7 ghz as i fund in the UAD forum it works fine,
but i really confusing now because of this new CPU's!
so, i think i cannot use my apollo till i figure out that the rumours are not true :facepalm:and also i need to get Universal Audio approval about it

come on time! please fly :beg:

I have a question does a high performance graphic card add any extra speed or doesn't it matter for audio production..?

Your pc is good, i'd rather trash the heavy vsts. Sometimes a vst eats cpu just when you make its gui appear, like the T-racks.
Choose very cpu efficient and possibly zero latency vsts, and you have several 90's studio in the box.
Clean your OS, defrag your hdd's, turn off useless processes, and turn off every internet stuff.
You don't need a new pc at all. Replicate your template in Reaper, and see how your pc flies.
    My 2 cents.
