It is a shame for a company like that to not offer educational discounts, using the excuse "lack the manpower to process the applications for discounts individually".

I'm sure many of us live in poor countries (where you work 12 hours a day for $100-200 a month) so saving money for those plugins would take years.

Don't want to discourage anyone, just wanted to add that I live in one of these poor countries and, at least in my experience, it's way cheaper to buy a PC (where you can install a cracked version of Soothe already) than a MAC with the same specifications.

In any case I wish you luck @ayudigital, if you're into coding you'll at least get a lot of experience and that's never a bad thing. All the best bro.

I tried an evaluation of it last year..didn't work for me and I only used the demo 2 days. fast forward a year laster, I email them and ask kindly if they could reauthorize a demo for me. They kindly told me to go fuck myself in so many words. If they priced it reasonably I would have just bought it.

I hope you crack the fuck out of Soothe even if I don't end up using it.

I recently came across Crossgridder and it is perhaps the greatest thing I've used in a long time. A little bit tricky with the ones that need full OpenGL such as Oeksound stuff and Gullfoss, but I can run them thru VMware fine. My next step when getting round to it is transfer my VM to Parallels as I believe it should provide superior performance. Definitely worth exploring. Find 'Crossgridder' on Youtube and message him, or there is a thread here you can follow

Shortly after submitting this thread, a few months ago oeksound decided to offer a rent-to-own scheme. A much more affordable option for citizens living in the poor countries.
I have proceeded with renting both their plugins for the amount of about 20 USD /month for a period of 18 months. At this current price, represents 10% of my monthly income.

I believe there will be some macOS in 5 years however it might be a possibility that all three (iOS, iPadOS and macOS) to be merged into one OS that seamlessly can transition on any screen.

And yes, iLok shouldn't exist. Some plugins require physical dongle. I have to occupy 2 ports (eLicenser for VPS GlitchBitch and iLok for Slate VTM). Just because some insecure developers which are not aware of the fact that they can make even more sales with a simpler protection which eventually gets cracked and it increases in popularity.

Using Soothe2 along with Spiff in delta modes to individually shape transients and twist and morph goes beyond the traditional "reducing my harsh cymbal" method.
